How do you disinfect the screen on an iPad 3?
I'm no germophobe nor OCD about cleaning however it seems essential to disinfect something like the iPad screen from time to time. I have found these discussions useful but inconclusive. So I'd like to say, unequivocally, that after reading around the subject I bought some surgical spirit from a high-street chemist and used that sparingly with a lens cloth to clean the screen. I have done this every month or so for about 18 months and there has been zero/nada/zip impact on the display quality nor on the sensitivity of the touch screen.
Or put a screen protector on, then you can disinfect it to your hearts content while the screen coating remains protected.

Why? It's a smooth surface. There are no cracks or crevices for things to get stuck in. Most germs don't live that long outside of the host body so disenfecting once a month is pretty pointless. Unless your in a hospital situation. There's really no need. Wash your hands regularly, don't touch your fingers to your eyes, nose or mouth and you'll be fine. Even the CDC says the best everyday protection is washing your hands (properly).
I am interested in this answer also. I am not a germaphone, nor am I OC, but I have recently had a very yucky virus and conjunctivitis, and I have children and a spouse who would also like to use my devices on occasion, so I would very much like to disinfect my screen to protect them.
I have the foam on this page

I also have a screen protector on my device, so the coating is protected and I use the foam whenever it gets really grubby (like when my niece uses it)
Consider PhoneSoap. It uses UV light. https://www.phonesoap.com/
