iPhone 5 noise canceling - strange head pressure feeling

So I have recently noticed a strange head pressure senssation when the noise canceling feature kicks in. Most of it is when I drive on a highway and talk, at moments I feel a strange pressure in the other ear and dizzines after a while..

I thought it was only me, but today on the highway I spoke with my brother which got his iPhone 5 yesterday and experienced the same feeling (he was also driving)

I am not sure if this is safe to your body, but are you guys having any similar effectes while there is noise in the room or while driving??

It seems like this works. But is it just me or does the sound seem sharper or louder? Glad mo more airplane noise though.

I'm having the same problem. I thought I was crazy, but it's making me almost too dizzy to use. I'm trying the hearing aid option. Will post regarding how it works. Thanks for the tip!!!!!!!!

Are you really talking on the high way and driving a fast vehicle at the same time? That's the dangerous part right there.

If this problem is really bothering you, just put a finger on the microphone located betwen the camera and the flash, that will block it from capturing the noise around you and thus reduce/eleminate that annoying feeling you are experiencing...

I wish I'm able to just plug something in it...

I noticed the same kind of weird sound on my iphone 5 earpiece this morning. Tried Google to figure out the problem but didn't find any specific solution. I stumbled around a little bit and figured out that volume was all the way up during a call. I lowered the volume to 50% while on call and looks like that fixed my issue for now but not sure if that's the permananet solution. I hope this might work for some users. 🙂

It appears this can now be turned off (in iOS 7). See under "Phone noise cancellation" in the manual: http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf

It's under Settings > General > Accessibility.

It's never bothered me though.

Yeah it's a iphone 4 issue. But that turn off feature not listed for iphone 4. Thanks anyway.

It's not an option to turn it off on the 4 because it's not a feature on the 4...

I was just listening to a voicemail in a busy place and I felt like I was gettng vertigo. Turning off noise cancellation worked. So weird. But thanks, folks!

Kudos Apple. It works fine. I first noticed it at my kids summer fete. Loads of noise as you'd expect but when I put my phone to my ear it was like the caller was next to me. Perfect.

You can turn it off to. 5s, great phone.
