My iPhone 5 is taking blurry pictures.

She has the Samsung Galaxy S3.

It would be great if you could post some comparison photos!

Consumer Reports says the iPhone 5 camera is an improvement over the 4S.

I haven't used mine extensively yet. But, I took some test pictures and they were fine.

My iPhone 5 has taken some amazing pictures. I took some of my husband blowing leaves with the leaf blower and they were crisp!!

My iPhone 5 is also taking noticeablly fuzzier pictures than my 4S. Every single one of them is slightly fuzzy either close up or far away. Either there's some focus bug or there's a hardware fault with the camera. I'm leaning towards hardware since other people say they can take in-focus pictures. Annoyingly, we have to wait until the stock is high enough to even take it in to have them look at it. 😟

I'm going to go to a store this weekend and take photos with a few demo units to see if they're the same way.

Hmm, perhaps I will ask them about a swap. It does the same with the case on or off (It's a clear in-case type thing). I took a few this afternoon in nice bright even sunlight and they were still blurry. I even tried to manual focus on a few items -- made no difference.

Interesting. Just now I was playing with it a bit more and when I tap the focus area it actually MOMENTARILY goes into sharp focus then backs back a bit to fuzzy again. Does it every single time on near or far items.

Maybe it is just a software bug with this hardware?

That doesn't seem normal at all. And doesn't jive with the iPhone camera tests I've done in 3 different stores so far. I think something is defective and you should bring it in to be replaced with a new iPhone 5.

Does that blurriness happen "reliably" enough so you can demonstrate it easily?

Definitely weird. You should take it back immediately. I used multiple iPhone 5s in 3 different stores and took multiple pictures in each case and they were all crystal clear and sharp.

I made an appt for tomorrow. I'm just concerned on their inventory. I don't want to make an hour drive, and they don't have any. Oh we'll. thanks for the input

Oh, well. Think positive. You'll get a nice drive at $5 a gallon and probably an exchange for an iPhone 5 without the problem! 🙂
