Verizon Iphone 5 Not Receving Signals for GSM Overseas

I too got verizon iphone 5 in India, it shows no service, am not sure how to update carrier settings I don't have Verizon sim.

Could you let me know if you are able to make / recieve calls / messages with Airtel sim

How did you update your baseband version to 13.1 ?

I tried using IDEA sim on Verizon iphone5 and it says no service.

yeah IDEA worked and I didn't have to do anything. I don't know why it didn't work the first time.

I can make calls with IDEA. But I cannot get the data working.

It says

"COULD NOT ACTIVATE CELLULAR DATA NETWORK"

"You are not subscribed to a cellular data service".

But I did active my 3G following the directions from IDEA website.

SETTINGS -> GENERAL -> CELLULAR -> Cellular Data Network -> APN -> "internet"

Just enter "internet" in the APN column and reset you phone. It should work.

If my baseband is not updated is there any other way to update it without the verizon LTE sim? cause that will not be available in india

I have AT&T iphone 5 its working with all the networks

Did you buy your At&t iPhone 5 from apple or At$t store? i ask cause there's a margin of 57 dollars between them.

My friends confused cause at apple they're saying its not unlocked but unlockable. Same thing at best buy and the service providers. does anyone know?
