I'm trying to sign in to itunes on my ipad however, all that comes up is the purchase site with no place for me to sign in to enter the itunes things thack I have synced from my MacBook Air.

iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 6

Try Settings > iTunes & App Stores

That's a new name since iOS 5.
