my g5 wont start up
it has a folder with smile and ? blinking at sametime instead of apple logo at start up
What do i do to fix this??? HELP!!!

im still seeing that ? mark on folder and that **** smiley face
its like saying.. screw you with a smile face and blinking!! Sheeesh

i just install it in g5 and attempt to format or whatever. it didnt prompt me and it just rebooted to that darn smile and ? blinking.
need some help here.
i also did put HD utility cd in it to attempt but nothing except that darn smiley.
should be some hot nurse smiley with sick hard drive, not happy one 😝
Hopefully the new drive is G5 SATA 1.5 Gb/s compatible, what exact drive & model?

Were you able to see it in Disk Utility booting from your Install Disc?
Did you use APM Partition Scheme?
nope
it goes to that darn smile and question mark when i started up after putting hd utlity disc in cd drive
ok i put leopard into external drive
i plugged it into the powermac
i pressed alt
it came up same thing just like my old hard drive

nothing between it either.

Ok. Case is closed!! The problem I had is over! I had great helper who was very nice guy, a user member here, Kappy. Kappy was kind to give me, his leopard X os cd but my girlfriend had better version.. She came to visit me but i didnt know how to use it yesterday.
The problem was one of my hard drive cable was no good and it was little complicated installation before we found out the reason it wouldnt work.
I want to show gratitude to local pirate, Mr. Kappy for being nice and awesome. I met a new friend!
