I have one of the first Mac Mini's that I've upgraded. It is now running a 2 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo processor and has 2 GB of 667 MHZ DDR2 SDRAM memory. Its currently running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. It has an L2 Cache of 4 MB and its Boot Rom Version is MM11.0055.B08. It is identified as a MacMini1,1 version computer. I've read that there may be installation problems. Thanks for your help.

No, for Mountain Lion you will need a 2009 on newer Mac Mini.

You can however run Lion if you have a Core 2 Duo, but not on a Solo or Core Duo.
Do you know what specific specs are needed. Since the upgrade I did would make the Mini compatible with Lion, I'm curious what additional tech specs are needed to run Mountain Lion that a 2009 Mini would have that my upgrade doesn't. Thanks.
The installer looks at the id of the logicboard, so even if you could upgrade the processor and the graphic's chip (which you can not), it still would not meet the requirement.
If you need or want Mountain Lion, then you will need a newer system.
So will I have that problem even if I just upgrade to Lion since the I'd of the logic board hasn't changed? Thanks.
I don't know, your info is a little confilcting and I'm not sure exactly which model you have.

If you have a 2006 Mac Mini 1,1 model with a Core Solo and Core Duo Processor, you can only go up to Snow Leopard.
If you have a 2007 or 2008 Mac Mini 2,1 model with a Core 2 Duo processor, then you can go up to Lion.

No.. I saw discussions about changing the ID but I thought it was going to be too risky, and I might screw up the machine totally, so I"m still running Snow Leopard.
