Audio file gets shorter when copied from iTunes to iMovie

I'm working with iMovie 11 and had no problem syncing Video and Audio.

I have the .mov and .mp3 audio files separated. I detached the camera audio and used the mp3 file.

However, when I copy the audio (mp3) from iTunes to iMovie, the last few minute or so of the audio

is cut. I can listen to it entirely in iTunes but iMovie loses part of it at the end.

What am I doing wrong? I have to finish this project this weekend or I'll lose my client.

I would suggest that you convert the mp3 file to AIFF in iTunes. You can do this by opening up iTunes Preferences. In the General Tab of Preferences, click Import Settings...

In Import Settings, choose Import Using: AIFF Encoder.

Now select your audio in iTunes, and right click. Choose "Create AIFF Version". Give it a name like Audio Track - AIFF so you can tell it apart from the original audio track.

Use this version in your movie.

If that does not work for you, I would try to find some conversion software to convert from 44.1 khz to 48 khz.

iMovie's (and video camera's) native audio is 48 khz. CDs are 44.1 khz.
