WiFi is SLOW after iOS 6 Update

After updating to this OS, I started noticing my WiFi slowed waaay down. When using speedtest.net, I'm getting 20+ Mb/s but everything on WiFi is slow to load. This is especially true with the YouTube app. This apps is practically useless with how slow it loads. After noticing that almost all of my apps were slowing down, I've concluded that it was the OS that is the culprit. Are there any fixes for this?

It only works if you have an ISP or Work DNS that is slow. 8.8.8.8 is a DNS server grooved by Google and is really fast. Your ISP' DNS is likely fast too so you get little if any gain. In my case my works DNS is a dog. There my speed really improved. At home with my ISP I don't see the improvements. Do a search on the web for "DNS 8.8.8.8" and you will get all the info you need.

I'm having issues with wifi connectivity and speed too, the connection to my home router (and many others) drops all the time and password prompts, and then is slow afterwards. Intermittently it also won't access the internet, or the router even when the correct password is entered. I had none of these issues before my iOS6 update and all of them immediately afterwards. This is a major PITA and needs sorting, it's almost making my iphone a useless brick. I've tried all the troubleshooting methods here and elsewhere I could find and none have made any difference 😠

DNS (8.8.8.8) change doesn't solve on a problem with very slow Internet access of Wi-fi. Or with total absence as that. Initially to me helped transfer to the FLY mode (compulsory inclusion of wi-fi, surprisingly worked) which completely blocks data of provider (that isn't acceptable). Found the decision in

Settings > Privacy > Geolocation > System Service > Genius for App - set to Dissable

and hard reset iPhone.

Network reset seems to have improved wifi speed for my 4s. This wifi speed frustration is only compounded by apples complete lack of customer support, to even admit, or address this widespread issue.

If this is, infact, some sort of marketing ploy, it's certainly backfiring.

I now look at my friends new Samsung with envy, and warn all not to update to ios 6.
