My iphone 5 goes "no service".

When my iphone 5 goes out of network, "no service" shows. But the phone doesn't search for network, even if there is, untill I tell the phone to search for network. Why?

iPhone 5, iOS 6

Well I am still having the No Service issues but not nearly as bad, EE have reset all the settings on my account & even shut my whole account down & restored it, I'm not going to lie it's not completely rectifed the problem but is a lot better than it was I now only receive No Service at most twice a day, I have also taken my phone out of it's case & that's has also helped a little, I have not done the software update to 6.1.4 as Apple themselves told me to wait until the next update & this one seems to have issues, I also refuse to switch off LTE becasue the whole poiint of having the phone was to use 4g, maybe you could all keep on at your service provider as that seems to have helped me, you can have as many iphones as you like but if the issues are with the carrier then the problem is still going to be there. I hope this helps some of you still having issues.

Same here. I am so tired of this problem. When's to Apple store in Birmingham and they kindly exchanged my handset for new one but that still hasn't solved the problem. My provider (EE) has reset my settings - still no good. Most of the times I am with phone but no service.

So tell me - what is the point of having a mobile phone if NOBODY can reach you???

So annoyed!!!

I have an iphone 4S, my brother has an iphone 5. We both live at the same house. I have NO problem getting signal bars and making and receiving calls. My brother on the other hand has NOTHING but trouble. 80% of the time he gets NO SIGNAL or SEARCHING. Sometimes even when he does get 3-4 bars I will try to call him and it goes straight to his voicemail after 1-2 rings.

The biggest problem for me is that I talked my bro into getting an iphone after telling him how great mine was.

I tried calling AT&T on his behalf (he's not into tech at all) and the representative tried to get me to turn off wi-fi and that seemed to help. He said that my brother should leave the wi-fi off so that the phone works. Thats Bullcarp. He's paying full price on his monthly bill so why should he have to have one or the other. We use our wi-fi network when we are at home because AT&T only has Edge in our area.

Yup same problem here, though for me the problem started after the last two firmware updates. sometimes I am in my house and the signal is fine, other times my phone won't even ring and then I get notified I have voice mail. This is getting really annoying as there are sometimes I really need a call to come through. AT&T is my carrier as well but this is not service oriented, from my experience it seems like its firmware related

Same here. Apple is really loosing it with this one as I've been an IPhone supporter since the first generation. Samsung will be worth a try next time! My IPhone 5 shows no service at my home (weak signal from EE) but only connects when I make a call, hence thousands of missed calls! Want to throw it against the wall which will give more pleasure than £300 for selling it. I have had SIM card replaced, phone switched by apple but nothing, no improvement. What are we paying for? Not happy to pay the premium for the apple brand over other phones anymore!!

I am having a similar problem.I am with EE in the UK and get a very poor signal indoors (3 bars at the most

if I'm lucky) and no 3G signal. But,when I am outdoors everything is fine!! Have been with T-Mobile (EE)

on various phones (including iPhone 4 and 4S) for 7 years and never had a problem with signal indoors until

I got an iPhone 5! Have had the phone checked over by Apple and they say it is okay and it must be a network

problem.Have contacted EE and they say there is no network problem in my area and it must be a problem with

the phone!!! Really frustrating!! I am tempted to move away from iPhone but don't fancy the Samsung

Galaxy S3 or 4 as they are too plasticky in my opinion. SORT IT OUT APPLE !!!!

I too am on EE and suffer from the No Service headache with this annoying iPhone 5.

I have the No Service message on both 3G and LTE, even though I am in central London which is reported to be a good 4G/LTE area.

I usually run through a set of steps to try and get my signal back:

1) Airplane mode On, wait 5 minutes, Airplane mode Off

2) LTE Off, then repeat 1)

3) Mobile Data Off, then repeat 1)

4) Restart the phone

5) Reset Network settings.

Normally 4) does the trick, like with all Tech problems.

Really tempted to move elsewhere unless Apple can tweak any radio settings within the upcomming iOS updates.

Also I have read that iPhone 5 customers will be able to cancel their EE contracts.

EE won't have a choice as the only way to improve your signal strength is to decrease your phone to a 2G signal.

This is NOT an option on iPhone 5.

This obviously is not acceptable to both you the customers or EE.

You can keep your phone if you contributed towards it, but you cannot keep your number as they will not give out a PAC number as the contact hasn't been completed in full.

Well having had a major problem with the 'No Service' issue from the day I bought the iPhone 5 my first instinct was rubbish phone but it appears that the problem was not with the phone at all but with EE, they insisted time & time again that this was definitely an issue with Apple, I changed my phone & my sim & still got no service, after months of problems & endless phone calls (from hubby's phone as mine never worked) EE shut down my account completely & then re-opened it as a brand new account this resolved my no service issue so it is a network issue not Apple I still have virtually no signal indoors or at work but at least the phone is working ok now, I did have 1 no service issue after this but that was because I put the phone in a case, which it obviously didn't like, I removed it immediately & the no service disappeared. If EE customers are still having issues I suggest you ask for your account to be shut down & re-instated apparently there can be bugs on initial set up. It worked for me. Good luck to you all x

My iphone 5 goes "no service".
