My iphone 5 goes "no service".
When my iphone 5 goes out of network, "no service" shows. But the phone doesn't search for network, even if there is, untill I tell the phone to search for network. Why?

It never happen to me before when I am using iphone 1,2,3,4, but all of sudden, it starts on my iphone 5. Check with carrier (HK One2free), and they are fine with their signal and reception and couldn't figure out what's going on. Then I check online, here it is the answer - Apple makes this happened and they don't even fix it yet.
SO, FIX IT. APPLE.....
I am so disappointing now with Apple product, it is getting worse and no customer service....
Twice today I've had to go into "airplane" mode in order to get service back. I can't believe that this problem has not been more widely publicised by now as so many people seem to be affected by it !
I'm with Rogers and I got my iPhone 5 on Sunday and for 1 day I had fine LTE and 3 bars, then on the 2nd day I started getting 3G in that same area with 3 bars, then on the 3rd day, it was me switching airplane mode about 10 times a day and I was also getting 2bars and an E where it says LTE usually... The fourth day I had it all the way till now, it's said Searching... So for 4 days stair I had the searching thing.
I went to Rogers, but the guy there just did the hard reboot( witch I told him I already did) then he hands me back the phone and says "take it to apple"
Hi,
Well I took my phone into the Apple Store today and they replaced it under warranty. I am now waiting to see whether this has fixed it, or whether the problems persists. I will update you all with what I find out in the coming days!
I've had two replacements and still have the No Service issue !
Update 4. After another replacement and lots of calls to Orange (EE). I may of made progress ! Firstly oranges customer service is shocking , the lies I was fed were terrible! What they finally did to make it work was to update my sim settings by text ! Don't ask what it did but I am working for now. What I will say is apple customer service has been pretty good, they went out there way to help ! I personally think there is a problem between the software and the carrier settings ! Keep pushing your service providers they have a responsibility to help you too !
Update 5. Well surprise surprise I am stuck on no service again ! Grrrr really had enough of this phone !
Managed to eventually evolve this. Bought a galaxy note 2! Iphone is going back.
I have managed to get it working by upgrading to 6.01 and then resetting the network settings under settings/general/reset
Picks every time after signal lost now
Did that aswell, but it doesn't work. This situation is terrible. Just waiting for Apple to react... Atleast but pressure on the carriers.
Tired of switching into airplane mode...
Update: I am getting no connection to my own wifi at home, several time a hour...have to activate/switch back and forth between airplane mode and wifi! are you kidding me? Not to mention NO service most of time at home.iOS 6.01 ***** big time! When is apple going to fix this???
Stop moaning everyone! Apple will probably fix this issue with the next software update.Otherwise this thread is going to turn into another "iPhone 4S battery life" which went on for 853 PAGES and eventually had to be locked by an administrator.
Get your facts right. This issue was supposed to have been resolved in the IOS 6.01 update but, whatever change they made, didn't work !
"• Resolves an issue that prevents iPhone from using the cellular network in some instances"
I've had the same problem with 2 - soon to be 3 - new iPhone 5s. I'm with 3 in the UK, and they've been pretty useless. Apple themselves have been very helpful, but it seems like the only fix for this is going to be to wait for 6.0.2.
To my way of thinking its unlikely that the same hardware issue is going to be present in three different phones, unless it really is an inherent problem which would affect everyone. To me, it seems like a software problem...
I have the exact same issue.
Escalated it with Apple and spoke to an enigineer who accessed it remotely t run diagnostics. Did all the resets and re-installs. Eventually had a replacement phone.
Then swutched network to the EE 4G network so a new SIM and am still having the same issue.
So new phone and new sim and not fixed!
