My iphone 5 goes "no service".

When my iphone 5 goes out of network, "no service" shows. But the phone doesn't search for network, even if there is, untill I tell the phone to search for network. Why?

I'm having the same issue! I got my iphone 5c last night, set up the phone using a backup from my iphone 4 (which worked perfectly - except for the busted screen). I have the "no service" message all the time. I've tried to restart, taking out the SIM card, etc. Next I'll try going to AT&T store to see if they will replace the SIM card.

Also 3. Also the same problem. I had them give me a new sim but it didn't solve anything. It feels like I lose coverage and that the iPhone stops trying to reconnect. How is the coverage when you guys get no service? I'm asking because many times when I find my iPhone with no service after god knows how long I turn flight mode on and off then the coverage can actually be really good.

I don't know, it's just frustrating. I don't know if I should be angry at three or apple or both. All I know is that I'm paying big money for this and it has been going on since day one.

I just spoke to three's customer service. They know about it and they have actually sent phones back already to see if apple can find anything wrong with them. So they don't know just yet but I would think they will be able to say if they need to be repaired or not.

Has anyone had the same problem with other carriers? Also, what Swedish forums have discussed this particular issue?

They don't know quite yet. They are waiting to see what apple says since they have already sent a couple of units back for repairs. I asked them if three's network could be too weak but they didn't think so. They said it could be a problem from production.

Although they agreed that it shouldn't have to be this way, we shouldn't have to go into flight mode and back to have our phones working. But they recommended me to see how it works out with the ones already at apple and I agree. It could be that three have bad SIM cards so I don't want to have to send my phone away in vain.

Fantastic.

Now it even happened while I was asleep. So it cannot be a mechanical problem with the SIM or anything because I haven't moved the iphone a milimetre all night.

I'm doing a factory reset from iTunes now and if it doesn't solve it I'm going back to Three. I simply cannot be unreachable because of this. So unpredictable.

My iphone 5 goes "no service".
