iphone 5 camera spots

Has anybody else had spots on their camera shots? (See images below) It appears as if there are specs of dust on the lens yet it is completely clean. Looks like a trip to the Apple store is in my future.

Yup same here. I went to the genius bar today, and the guy was surprised and said he hadn't seen it before. He said he could see a speck of something inside the camera glass, but that there's no way to just change the camera so he asked if it's ok to give me a new phone. I backed up with iCloud the night before, so the switch was painless. Success!

Just to chime in....I also notice a purple blotch on all my pictures......You can see it very plainly when using the camera. Made a genius bar appointment today, within 15 minutes I was out the door with a new phone. The genius bar guy had never seen it before.....he thought they might be able to fix it. Went in the back and the tech said not fixable, and swapped it out right away. Very easy experience.

It's too bad to see this happening but at least it's making them aware of the problem and hopefully they'll tighten up their QC or whatever. And also they're taking care of their customers.

I am really frustrated. In December I took my phone to the nearest Apple store (over an hour away) about the purple spots on my pictures. I was really happy that they switched out my phone quickly and easily. Here it is a month later and the problem has resurfaced on my new phone. I have a 2 year old and take pictures constantly. I do not want purple spots on them! Nor do I want to have to drive over two hours round trip every month to get my phone replaced. Maybe I will call them and see if they will ship me out a phone. Now that I think about it, they did ship me a replacment phone once with my 4. I LOVE my iPhone, but I sure wish they were more robust.

Hi! I am having exactly the same problem with my iPhone 5. I consider myself an OC person and the purple dot is driving me crazy. Were you able to resolve this issue on your own? I really hope you were because I bought my iPhone last December in Singapore & I live in the Philippines, and I don't think Apple Stores here in PH would give me a replacement unit. Thank you very much in advance for the reply!

The first time I had them, I was able to tap my phone firmly to one side and the spot (clearly something inside the phone) shifted out of the lens view. A couple weeks later it came back though. It shouldn't matter which Apple store that you go to, any should help you. Perhaps call them. I have found customer service at Apple to be fantastic. I daresay that they have the best customer service in the world.

This is really sad given that the iPhone 5's camera is supposed to be one of the most powerful in the market. Anyway, one week after and the purple dot on my lens is still there. I hope it doesn't get worse. I'm sending my iPhone back to Singapore to have it repaired/replaced. I tried bringing it to an Apple store here in the Philippines, but I was told that they only accept units bought from Globe and Smart, the two PH network providers that carry the iPhone.

Hope you're able to resolve your problem, mate. Cheers!
