My wife wants to use her iPhone 3G iOS 6.0 to play music for her dance class. She is concerned that a phone call will stop her music and interrupt her class. Is there a setting to prevent this from occurring? Thanks.

This isn't helpful if you're trying to play music from the Cloud. I have the same issue and also when running my music using BlueTooth. The calls still ring through in do not disturb. Sometimes they ring through, and sometimes they just disrupt the music while the phone rings silently ... either way, this is an awesome way to completely ruin a Yoga / Dance class. I have most of my playlists made up of cloud music, and with the new music upgrade airplane mode won't work.

i'm pretty sure that if you're playing music and the phone is on the lock screen, a phone call won't come through. try it out!
I have DND disturb to not let any calls through. I turned it on. I then turned on the Music player, locked the screen and called my phone. The call went straight to voicemail. The phone did not light up, and it did not ring.
Put the phone in airplane mode.
If DND is on and the screen is locked, it should, unless DND interprets the fact the music is running as a reason not to activate DND. Not sure about that, however I would say the next best bet is to put the iPhone into Airplane mode. That will turn off the phone, and your calls would go to voicemail, and you would be able to get them once you take the phone out of Airplane mode. In Airplane mode the Music player will function.
I just tried another test, and with the same settings as before, only letting the screen lock on its own, rather than forcing it closed, the call still went straight to voicemail. Make sure the screen has gone dark before you try and make a call.

If the calls still ring through on Do Not Disturb, you've got it set up incorrectly. Review your DND settings.
Do not disturb is what you want to do. Once the screen locks, DND is on and all calls will go straight to voicemail, unless you have it set to let certain ones through.
No - setting to DND on and waiting for the screen lock does NOT work. Do Not Disturb is new to me. I will have to learm more on the topic.
Calls will only ring through if you have exceptions set for Do Not Disturb. Double check your settings for DND. Calls will not ring through, unless they meet your exceptions. Turn exceptions off.
Prevent Phone from Interrupting Music
