I want all text messages to show up under usage on my Verizon bill ( we have teenagers). If we turn off the iMessage under settings on our phones will this accomplish this? Even if someone is texting one of the kids from another iPhone? We have unlimited texting with Verizon already so the number of texts won't affect the bil one way or another.

Hi there, I was reading your comment about transferring iMessages for one phone to another. I have two 6s and want the messages to go from one phone to the other. Is this still possible with the newer phones
Posting in a thread that's been dead for 4 1/2 years and already marked as solved is not going to get much attention. I suggest you start a new thread and describe what you're trying to accomplish in more detail.
No iMessages will show up on your Verizon bill, as they are sent/use cellular data or WiFi. So, if you want everything to go as SMS, yes, turn iMessage off.

Is everybody using an Apple device? If so, iMessage is a free service. The only time it would cost was if someone was sending to a non-Apple device, in which case you would see a green text bubble (think: green=money). If the bubble is blue, there is no cost, aside from data fees that you are already paying for.
I realize that; the problem is that you can't view who's texting who and when on the Verizon bill. We want to see that, especially with teenagers.

I mean we want green bubbles, not blue bubbles. In other words we want all messages on the bill ( as I said earlier, we have unlimited texting anyway ).
If you want to get REALLY shady and see what your kids are up to, you can actually go into iMessage settings, and add your childs email, and then every iMessage they send and recieve, will be duplicated to your phone.... But hey lets be real here... thats EXTREME... Now... Keep in mind that if your child has an iphone, they can simply turn imessage on when theyre not home and turn it back onwhen they get home... or, they can switch to one of a million apps for instant messaging, such as KIK, the most reliable and popular IM... So with out over stepping any boundaries, if you really want to monitor every text your child sends and recieves, then you need to take your kids iPhone away...

it will allow you to use what ever email your child is using, or the phone number...

If I'm understanding this correctly, I add their email or cell phone number to my iPhone ( leaving iMessage turned on, on their iPhone, then all their text messages will be duplicated to my phone. Is that correct?
We're responsible for them until they're 18, plus we're paying for the phone. Taking it away doesn't work, we need to have contact with them in case of emergency or if plans change. -- There's one bad influence that we need to stay on top of here, need to monitor for child's well being, future, etc.
I agree. I reported her misusage of the sit and posted a reply to you, but in my reporting it, it appears that my comment was also deleted because I quoted her comment.. Oooops LOL In case you didnt see it, you will only recieve imessages, not regular sms texts.
