App updates not showing in App Store

Ever since I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6, the App Store has not been showing updates properly. Periodically, it will show a badge indicating that there are updates for apps available. But when I open the App Store, I see this:

If I tap on another tab, like Charts or Featured, and then come back to Updates, it still says all apps are up to date. I have to force quit the App Store app (double tap Home button, tap and hold on App Store icon then tap the minus sign, then hit the Home button again) and then open it again in order to see this:

A similar thing also happens sometimes when there is no badge, but I decide to go in to the App Store to manually check for an update. It will show no badge on the Updates tab, and the main screen says all apps are up to date. But when I force quit App Store, and open it again, it will show updates are available.

Prior to iOS 6, we could tap on the Updates button and it would force a refresh and check for updates again. That no longer seems to be the case. That in addition to it intermittently or incorrectly showing updates makes it difficult to know if app updates are actually available.

Is this just my iPhone or is anyone else experiencing something similar? Either way, does anybody have a solution?

i'm having a similar problem but mine is that the App Updates are showing up in my iPhone5/iOS7 and iPad3/iOS6 but not showing in my MBAir/iTunes11. tried updating to the latest iTunes but still nothing. this started only yesterday... i hope it is just a bug with Apple servers and would solve itself soon.

vernes, I'm having the same exact problem that started as well yesterday, Dec, 12, 2013. My Mac shows no updates available but my iPhone shows there are updates. I would love for this to clear up as I download all the latest onto my Mac first then sync.

my problem also started last Dec 12, 2013. i also prefer downloading the updates with my Mac then sync.

i think this is an Apple server problem since both of us have the same problem which started on the same date.

i just hope this gets fixed soon.

Same problem here. Apps updates showing up in iPhone, but not on my MacPro with latest itunes and Moutain Lion

still having the problem.... i already emailed Apple last Dec 14 and still no reply from them... i hope they fix this soon.

Eventually, my problem did correct itself after a couple weeks. The interim fix was to scroll through the "purchased" apps and manaually update apps that I had installed. Time-consuming, but it worked. I believe the issue was simply a matter of the information not displaying correctly, which Apple fixes on the back end with their store coding.

Here it's fixed. Wonder if it has something to do with 10.9.1 or apple fixed it at their end. Got about 200 updates waiting for me.

app updates are already showing in my iTunes since yesterday. Apple might have fixed something on their server.
