Disable Facebook birthday notifications

I have been having the same problem on my Macbook. Driving me nuts!! I disabled everything too but none of the previous answers worked on a computer, most were solutions for phones or pads. I THINK I figured it out for the computer. Go to >Calendar>Services>Service Preferences> and delete the Facebook Calendar completely.

If you want to keep the birthdays listed in your calendar, but you don't want the alerts,

1. you can Open up the Calender app
2. display the list of calendars by clicking the button labeled "Calendars"
3. For each calendar labeled "Birthdays", right-click and click "Get Info"
4. Check the box that says "Ignore Alerts"

I'm having a similar issue. However I do not want to disable all birthdays. I would like to remove birthdays brought in from Facebook and keep birthdays that I have entered manually. How can this be done?

This was IT! Thank you so much! These dang notifications that just started popping up recently have been driving me crazy. And I've checked and unchecked the 'birthday' box on the calendar countless times which only stopped displaying them on the calendar itself. Go figure.

To disable those annoying Facebook Birthday Notifications...you have to do this from FACEBOOK.

1) Go to Facebook.com

2) In the top right corner, go to the Pulldown Menu

3) Click on SETTINGS

4) Click on left menu, select NOTIFICATIONS

5) Scroll down to BIRTHDAYS and TURN OFF

That’s it… you’re free!

Well, hi there! My solution where to go into settings then go to contact - Accounts - Icloud Or Mail(Outlook,hotmail etc.) - then turn off Calendars and reminders from there. That worked for me 😀
