iPhone 5 camera won't focus

Hey everyone,

I'm having some issues with my phone. I've had to reset my phone completely twice already for bugs and a new one has risen.

My camera officially isn't focusing. I can hold something inches from the lens and it won't focus, but everything in the background is crystal clear.

I'll tap the screen to focus, and over and over, it won't. About every 20 tries, it will for a moment, then go back to blurry. Also, the camera is having the same issue in my apps.

I'm also having a issue with when I open certain things, the screen will become glitchy and pixelated in spots.

Does it sound like my phone is a dud, or is all of this common.

Any tips to help me fix my current issues?

I'm new to the iPhone and this has been a frustrating and bummer experience so far 😟

yeah me too...dropped my iphone accidentally days ago n camera wont focus...after reading this...i dropped my iphone several

times...facefront wont work.::back also wont work...then i dropped it from the side..:and camera back in action....i dropped it at the height of 1 n a half feet...

about the height of my sofa...infact i did drop it from my sofa and make sure ur iphone has cases on.,,thnx

The same problem happened to my iPhone 5! I tried the "dropping" trick and the palm thing, but it didn't work.. My Girlfriend wanted to help so she messed around with it and then she slapped the iPhone with her ***** and the camera started working!!

Today is October 24th 2015 and I tried this and it actually worked, I hit the phone (in my palm hand) barely hard and yes it fixed the issue, BUT apparently seems to be temporary because the issue comes again, but at least everytime I need picture a document so close, i'll do this for sure. THANK YOU, and be careful not to hit very hard your phone !

OMG I just dropped the phone from knee height... I tried 4 times now my focus is back and I can take great Photos again !

awesome

I did it on time and it works for darker view to become normal

second time it adjust the focus but suddenly the display become blurry with red yellow green color only

third time everything works well on my iphone 5s

I Was having problems with the zoom. After reading this I slapped the phone on my hand and it fixed the problem! Thanks so much!

I don't know how or why, but I whacked it flat down on the table (glass up) in my otter box case and I can't believe this actually worked! I missed an entire month of "grandson photos" because I thought I needed a new phone. Who knew that giving it a good whack would fix it. Thank you so much! Like others have said, I don't think it's a good idea to be whacking your phone, but on the other hand, it wasn't working and I may have just tossed it out anyway. You just saved me $800 .. time to buy some more baby stuff!! YAY
