Wow, I'm impressed. That's above and beyond the call of duty. Sure, you have to buy something from the Apple store, but I'm really surprised and impressed we're getting this. Thank you, Apple. And Adobe. 😉

I am just saying that a modern gesture would have been an email that read, "Click here for your Aperture rebate"

But I do understand the idea behind making all of this work for the end user... there is a guaranteed percentage that will not take the time to mail in the rebate.

I write this as I finish licking the envelope with my rebate inside LOL.

BTW, with this rebate being mailed off to a noname rebate farm, is this an indication of the size of the Aperture installed user base?

Over here in Hong Kong, we miss out on a lot of the good stuff like TiVo and iTunes. Unfortunately, it looks like we've been left out of the Aperture Rebate plan too.

I became so sick and tired of waiting for my photo program and G4 iMac to convert, touch-up and manage my photos that I went out and purchased a new iMac Duo Core and a copy of Aperture.

That was just 10 days ago and I paid full price for Aperture. I'll be very disappointed (and noisy) if we don't get the same rebate treatment here in HK.

thank you for that link. I had already checked the Hong Kong Apple Store but there was and still is no mention of the rebate.

thank you again, and thank you Apple.

I've migrated my 5000+ Canon 350D photos to Aperture and still have a long way to go in using the new features because they're so flexible and expandable: Projects, EXIF, IPTC, etc. So far, I'm having a great time even though there's a slight learning curve. There are limitations (printing) and difficulties (AppleScript) but they'll be solved in time. And the DVD tutorial rocks!

Goes a LONG way towards abaiting some growing anger among apples most loyal customers...particularly those that bought aperture as i did in the last days of march... i dont praise is it as class, i call it a good way to avoid being sued or alienating loyal and sometimes wealthy customers...

sadly, my macbook pro is in repair and i only just found out about this... but with a $100 rebate to look foward, i am content.

Let me get this straight...

Apple realised that they overcharged for beta software parading as a final release candidate. They offer the difference as a rebate for use on the Apple store only, and within a certain timeframe (30 Sept). And that's class?

In order to gain my rebate I'm likely to have to buy something that, in all likelihood, I wouldn't have bought anyway (unless Apple start shipping the 7800GT as a kit before 30 Sept).

I suppose it's better that the usual ** from Apple. But not class.
