Virtual memory took over my Mac...

Hi, After playing a memory consuming game (Civilization). My computer ran out of memory (it crashed). The hard disk which is empty (40 GB out of 250 GB) became completly full (249.3 GB out of 250GB). The usual suspect is the virtual memory (using 210 GB), but restarting the compuer doesn't clear it. Any idea?

Hello Thomas,

I was under the impression that his computer would not boot at all because he stated at first it was a virtual memory issue. He stated that all the other things he preformed didn't work. This was a choice of last resort. Thank you very much for the usefull information.
