Podcasts not appearing as playlists

I recently had to restore my 80GB iPod Classic to factory settings. I have a few playlists set up to play podcasts (for example, a University podcast playlist that compiles unlistened academic podcasts and a short takes playlist that compiles all unlistened podcasts that are less than 30 minutes long for when I am commuting). It's important to have these playlists mix episodes from different podcasts within the same playlist.

After the restore, the podcast episodes are still showing up correctly in my PC iTunes client, but the playlists are empty on my iPod. I can see the podcast episodes in the 'Podcasts' menu, but I want to use playlists, not the podcasts menu to listen to them. Thanks.

Do these podcast playlists appear under your iPod's Podcast configuration tab in iTunes?

To access the Podcasts tab for your iPod, plug your iPod in and click on it from under theDevices section in the left hand pane of iTunes. This will bring you to the Summary tab. Along the top you should see a Podcasts tab, so go ahead and click on it. Here you can configure how and what podcasts sync to your iPod.

While we are under this tab, can you note what settings you have in place?
