iPhone 5 calls go straight to voice mail

This happens sometime, not always.

The caller heard one rang then the call went direct to voice mail.

I was in the full bar services area and can still receive email and IM via LTE, but I did not see any missed call notification nor incoming calls.

This happenes to my AT&T iPhone 5.

The Do Not Disturb and Airplane Mode are both off

How can I fix this?

iPhone 5, iOS 6

SSo is it still happening to you? Does your location matter? Seems to only happen when I am at work. Once at home but for 2 hours yesterday I kept calling it from my work phone and only like 1 of every three calls came through. Untried adjusted all settings. Apply blames AT&T and they blame Apple. Apple offered me a new phone but I don't think that is the problem Since you got new phones and it did not resolve. I dont know how to fix this. This really *****.

I Have the Iphone 5s. I highly doubt I would buy another IPhone because of this problem. It still happens intermittently and I am so fed up with it. I have to believe it is Apple's problem as they have replaced the phone twice. Now my phone is out of warrantee, just 12 months old. I just don't get why they can't fix this problem. I really thought it was a sprint problem until I started reading all these posts.

I Thought it was AT&T until I started reading too. But Apple still thinks it's AT&T. Of course! Funny thing is, I had an iPhone 4s before this and never had these problems! I work At the same place but my desk moved over one spot. So what, are we supposed to just deal with it? I missed a call from my sons school nurse one day. Not cool. And the worst part is that voicemail cake through 9 hours later!!! When I was at home in good wifi.

This is my third if I count my old jobs work issued one. My husband and family have them as well, but they are all okay as well. That they noticed Anyway. It only happens when I am at work so far. I love the phone, just wish it would work. We have each other!!

AT&T called me today to check on the situation. Call came through. He tested two more times. The last call did not come through. I noticed the first two times, my phone was not in its usual place. So I ran a test myself. I had my phone in its usual spot. Called three times with the phone in sleep mode. Only the third call actually came thru and not to voicemail. I tried a 4th time with the phone not in sleep mode and it still rang twice and went to voicemail I moved my phone to the other side of my desk and tried again. First three calls all came through. I was so excited so I tried a 4th. That one went to voicemail. I then tried with the phone not in sleep, call came through. For fun I tried one more time in sleep mode, call went to voicemail. So results: left side of desk, 3 out of 4 calls went to voicemail. On the right side, 2 out of 6 went to voicemail.

SO if you add that all up, it worked 50% of the time, but odds were better just llike 3 feet over more. Weird.

Hey, does your happen no matter where you are in a particular place? In my case, if there was a problem with the phone, wouldn't it happen everywhrre and not just at my work?

Had a similar issue today and tried all the remedies posted here but no luck. The following solved my issue and hope it solves it for majority of folks here. The call forwarding feature was enabled. Here is how to disable this

For Verizon and Sprint customers from the keypad dial *73 then you will hear a couple beeps. The call then automatically hangs up.

For AT&T and T-Mobile customers from the keypad dial # # 21# then you will hear a couple of beeps. The call then automatically hangs up.

Try calling yourself again from another phone

On the contrary this call forwarding feature could be very easy to activate if you're not paying attention by leaving your phone unlocked in a pocket or purse. etc.

For Verizon and Sprint customers It activates by dialing *72 then you'll hear a couple of beeps. This causes any calls to directly go to voicemail.

For AT&T and T-Mobile customers it activates by dialing * * 21* then you'll hear a couple of beeps. This causes any calls to directly go to voicemail.

Hope this helps

TThanks I already tried that though with no luck.

TEsted my my phone again today at work. 3 out of 12 calls came through correctly. Got home and tested, 1 out of like 15 failed. This is only the second fail while I am at home for the past two months. The problem was at work 2 months ago, went away and then cake back full force. Why are there no good answers for this?

I Think I fixed it!!! Did lots of tests at work. Nothing worked. My co worker has an android and t-mobile and it happens to her too. Something in our office is messing things up. I turned LTE completely off today. every tested call, about 20 of them, came through. I then put LTE to data only and tested about 10 more calls. Not a single one came through. Turned LTE completely off again and all calls came through again! So even having it turned off on voice and on for data is causing some sort of delay in the switchover when a call comes thru and sends it to voicemail. it only happened at my work so something in that area is causing it. Gonna test some more tomorrow, but I realize now that when I had this problem two months ago, LTE was on data only. I turned it completely off tHen. No problems for 2 months. I was having a different issue with my phone as well and when that got fixed I turned LTE back to data only. It took a couple weeks to realize this problem was back. It's LTE! Turn it completely off. Data runs slower when not on wifi but for now my calls are coming thru!!!! Again, gonna test again tomorrow.
