i got my ipod stolen and i want to know if their a way to track my ipod i cant use find my iphone app because i disconnected it off my ipod and i need internet on it is their another way to track my ipod by serial number??

The ONLY way would be IF you set up find my ipod on teh ipod itself BEFORE it was lost AND it is on AND it is connected to wi-fi AND it has not been restored by the thief.
Otherwise it cannot be tracked.

No, sorry. I wish you could track it by serial number, but you can't. My iPod touch was stolen just this week (I had the Track My iPhone app on), and after talking with Technical Support I can honestly tell you that even if the app is on, it is completely useless for iPods. Trash. The app requires your iPod to be connected to WiFi; the catch is that if you have a pass code, then it can't even connect to WiFi, it has to be connect to a WiFi network it recognizes to be useful at all. Anyone can restore an iPod, which again, makes the app useless.
The only thing I can say is to register your iPod's serial number with your iCloud account, set up email notifications, and hope that the thief is stupid enough to being your iPod in for repair. If they do bring it in for repair, then Apple will contact you via the email you signed up with for iCloud. Have your police report and copy of registration ready to bring your iPod home.
