Question: Java Preferences missing from Utilities Folder

I just installed Java 2012-006 from software update and now Java Preferences Pane is missing from the Utilities Folder.

I installed today's update, and Java Preferences is missing for me now as well. Any webpage that I go to with java says missing plug-in with no option to install other than going to java.com, which only has java 7, which does not work with Chrome.

I need to get the Apple distributed Java working again.
