iPhone 5/iOS6 : WiFi unquiescing requested by "locationd"

Is anyone else seeing this error in their iPhone 5 logs?

wifid[14] <Error>: WiFi:[372219579.397266]: WiFi unquiescing requested by "locationd"

You can check by plugging in your iPhone into your mac and opening Xcode's Organizer. On the left, you should see your device listed. Click the "console" item beneath it.

My iPhone 5 is reporting these several times per minute. It's not just this phone either. I'm on my second iPhone 5 handset (had it replaced by Apple Care) and both of them report these errors very frequently. I even checked right after having completed a clean DFU reset without restoring a backup.

Is this a bug? Could this be impacting battery performance? Is anyone else observing this?

"locationd" is the service that used to monitor where you are in the previous iOS versions. (read this)

after this happened, Apple released a new version that disable that, but added a new app as a workaround to still get these locations - it is called "Find my friends".

so if you have this app installed, it is still using this service, and this might show you these error messages.

when i disabled the "Find Friends" in the location services settings - I didn't get these errors again.

but then I enabled it again, since I'm using with this app..

I hope this tip helps, and that you are all having error because this app is installed.

Was anyone able to fix this?

The only way i'm able to stop this from happening is by turning ON airplane mode.

Even if I turn off cellular data, Wi-Fi and location services, i still get thar error message(and poor battery).

I even tried a restore from DFU mode. Same result. I don't know what else to do 😕
