why does pages add a third blank page to my 2 page document?

Pages keeps adding a blank third page to my two page document/resume. I am using floating text boxes for each section in the document and all my infomation fits on two pages with room to spare and yet it keeps this blank third page. I cannot delete the third page by itself as it only allows me to delete pages 1-3. I did move all my text boxes looking for an errant page break or return(paragraph symbol) and found one in the middle of page 2. When I delete the return it deletes page 2 and 3! Any ideas on a workaround besides starting a new document and copying all the text boxes?

Pages does not think the pages "highlighted in yellow" are one page. The yellow outline indicates a Section.

What is happening is what I described. You have returns, spaces, images with text wrap on. All interacting. The text wrap is causing one of the invisibles to pop over to the next page.

Pages Word Processing documents only show a page if it has text on it, any character, even invisibles suffice. Floating objects don't count, they remain on the page they were put on but it will only be displayed if it has text.

Use Section Breaks to divide your document, or remove text wrap from images, or insert the images inline in the text to produce the layout you need.

Menu > View > Show Invisibles

and delete the character that is causing this. You probably have hammered away at the return key, tab or spacebar to position things and your images with Word wrap are pushing them over.

Thanks Peter for this suggestion but I already had show invisibles on. But under the text boxes I had inadvertantly placed a return in the middle of the page. Strange behavior is that when I deleted the return the entire second and blank third page would be deleted also. Conversely if I added returns until the end of page one it would add yet another blank page. Using View> show page thumbnails it showed all 3 or 4 pages highlighted in yellow meaning that Pages was thinking these were all one page. Adding a section break at the end of each page allowed me to separate the various pages.
