How to recover missing projects? (remove com.apple.iMovieApp.plist does not work)

I'm trying to recove/load/repair or whatever applies to the iMovie project. I created the project in only one iMovie session (in other words I opened iMovie and close it until I finished the project). I didn't have time to finalize the project so I closed iMovie and left.

The next day, I came back to iMovie and noticed that the project wasn't there, that had never happened before, I've had "source clip missing" issues but nothing like this.

I went to my iMovie Projects folder and the project package was there, with the thumbnail and everything, I lokked inside of the package contents and all the files were there, nothing looked weird or missing at all.

I tried to recover the project/events library, but removing the com.apple.iMovieApp.plist file within the Library/Preferences folder didn't work, the rest of the projects are loaded but not the last one I created.

I tried the old method of restarting the OS but didn't work either...

Is there any way to repair/recover the project and get it back to iMovie? I spend some hours editing the project and I don't want to do it again.

I'd appreciate your help a lot!

There may be another solution to "error -50" which I was experiencing during export attempts, but I spent several hours researching the error and trying different things and the only suggestion which worked for me was deleting all clips under 5 seconds (someone said 2 at first, but 3 and 4 second clips were causing me issues as well and it wasn't until I made sure they were all over 5 seconds that the export worked).

I have tried iMovie 10 and do not like it. I uninstalled it after several frustrating hours of use. I'm sure the interface is great for some, but the old interface makes a lot more sense to my brain. 🙂
