Hi Thomas, I just read your message where you explain how to find com.apple.mail.plist.... and it solved one of my questions... I'm trying to move all my mail from my old mac to my new mac, and I already found and copied the mail folder, so my question is if I have to also copy the com.apple.mail.plist so as to have all my old accounts working (which apparently is so...). But as you mention, since they moved the file, I´m not sure if I only have to copy the com.apple.mail.plist (which I also found after your explanation), and if so, where should I put it in my new mac.. or if I have to copy the whole com.apple.mail/Data/.... folder...

Thanks!

Thomas can´t find com.apple.mail files any where, nor in the library nor in the preferences.... and Mail still says can´t be openes because it seems damaged or corrupted. Already restred the software...

what else could I do. Is there any way I can dounload a com.apple.mail file to place in my labrary and then name it a old so I can create a new one...

Transferring my data to a new macbook air today, and mail from the last three months transferred over, but nothing else came over. No folders, no older e-mails from my files.

I found the mail folder, but cannot for the life of me find the com.apple.mail files. Not in the missing libraries folder in my hard drive, and not in the Containers folder. Anyone else have any other ideas where I can look? I used spotlight to no avail.

Perhaps more importantly, what will happen if I copy over the mail folder put not the plist file?

In Mavericks try verifying your disk. Disk Utility said my disk needed to be repaired. I had to restart w/Command +R then select to restore through Disk Utility. After only a few minutes my disk had been repaired. I quit Disk Utility and selected my hard disk as the start-up disk. When I restarted and opened Mail everything was back to normal.
