Then you should update your profile (Your Stuff->Profiel in the upper right corner of this page) and upgrade to 10.8.5 soon (About the security content of OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.5).
If it would make you feel any better, download and run one of several free A-V softwares available, some of which are recommended elsewhere in this thread. See Thomas's Mac Malware Guide for some perspective on all this.
How can u tell what version software i'm using when you said 10.6.7?
First, note that this topic has been inactive for almost a year and ended in fairly pointless bickering, and eventually the banning of LordZedd from these forums. That's not a productive environment for having a discussion about your issues. I'd advise you to start a new discussion, probably in the Mountain Lion forum, since that's the system you're running.
In that discussion, you need to identify what symptoms you are experiencing, in as much detail as possible. If some anti-virus software has told you you have malware, specify what anti-virus software that was and what names it used for the malware.
Don't assume you have malware just because an online account was hacked. That does not have to be the case, and usually isn't on a Mac.
I installed Mavericks last night, along, I'm sure with a good portion of the civilized world. My machine is a late 2007 iMac that I souped up with 6GB of mem. There is no question that the machine is using memory MUCH better, at least for me.
In activity monitor, I'm showing "AntiVirus" and it's using 180+ MB.
It can't be shut down and I'm wondering if it came with Mav.

No such process is installed by Mavericks.
Please start a new Discussion in the Mavericks forum so that more information can be determined to help you get rid of it.

Sounds a lot like MacKeeper.
Let us know where your new discussion ends up.

I believe that is correct.
MacKeeper is the answer, thanks so much. I uninstalled it awhile ago, guess I missed the virus app.
Yes, sometimes MacKeeper can leave bits behind. It's a nuisance. Be sure you got all of the remnants out: https://sites.google.com/site/appleclubfhs/support/recent-questions/question0000 0157

Older MacKeeper versions require somewhat extensive techniques to eradicate all its components.
Newer versions of MacKeeper, including the most recent version 2.8, uninstalls itself very easily even with Mavericks, leaving only an inert log file behind. The "AntiVirus" process you mentioned is not created by the most recent MacKeeper version, so you will require more help. If the process still appears please start a new Discussion in the Mavericks forum as I suggested earlier.
