If you delete a referenced file in Aperture (actually, it may be the "empty the trash" part, it asks you if you want to move the original to the trash. If that's what you want to do, then say yes.
Hey William
thanks for the quick feedback
I did not get the question, whether I want to move the original into the trash. I used the command : delete workfile and original and I emptied the trash. Result : Mediathek of APERTURE has not anymore the file, but original in the archive is not touched
Did I understand you : you found a command to delete the original ??
Please let me know

It's not a separate command. There is a checkbox that will appear in the confirm dialog box when you empty the Aperture trash.
Have a look at this thread delete masters fails for an image of the confirmation window.
Hey Frank
thanks very much also for the link
Yes I did see this, but even setting the yes in the check box, original has been not deleted
Any explaination??
Thanks and have a good start into the new week

Where are the masters located? Do you have permissions set in an odd way on the drive on which they're located? What is the format of the drive - is it Mac OS X Extended (Journaled)?
As long as that check box is selected and you've empty the Aperture trash the referenced originals should also be moved to the system trash.
If it i not working and you are sure that you have selected the checkbox a few things to check are:
Make sure there is only one set of the originals on your HD. You may be looking at a copy that got made when you imported from your camera or into Aperture. To check this when you delete the images in Aperture and empty the Aperture trash (with the checkbox selected) look in the system trash. What do you see? Are there originals there?
Another possibility is a permissions problem. I'm not sure what Aperture would do if it was not able to move the referenced originals to the system trash. It is possible that Aperture would just fail silently. Make sure you have permissions on the referenced originals to delete them.
If those two things check out ok you should make a new empty library import a few images into it and try this. Does it work?
If it still fails make a new user, log in as that user, run Aperture on a new library and try it. Does it work now?

Hey William
first reply to your feedback
: Yes, HD is MAC OS X extended journaled and I have no permissions on the file I would like to delete.
The files are on an external HD ( time Capsule)
To Frank's feedback I will come separately

Hey Frank
excellent feedback
I will try all this, but before I have some small clarification questions :
SYSTEM TRASH is the trash box on the desktop, correct?
There are copies of the file on other HDs as back-up, but ehose should not be adressed with the delete request. Correct?
I will try next days, because I am just backing up the archive ( is a bit big 400 GByte )
Thanks in any case for now and I will come back

The files are on an external HD ( time Capsule)
So your originals are on a network volume? Directly on the Time Capsule or on a disk connected to your Time Capsule?
Hei LeonieDF,
yes the files are directly on TC, because need to use those also from other MACs
Something strange or can cause problems?
It´s sometime a bit slow, especially when starting, I need to activate the TC
:-))
FJ
The fact that the originals are on the TC could be causing problems.
I don't have a TC but I do have an Airport Extreme with a USB drive attached to it. I just relocated an original to the drive off the APE and when I delete the image from within Aperture, when I empty Aperture's trash I get the following:
However when I go to the drive with the Finder and delete the original the Finder is able to do it.
So first are you getting an alert like the one I posted above when you empty Aperture's trash? And second if you go to the TC and delete one of the originals what happens?
Hey Frank
I did not get that system message
When I delete one file from TC from the original I get the message in APERTURE : File not anymore linked
FJ
Hey Frank,
now I can come back to you
You have been right. The access rights to my TC has been limited
I have copied my archive to a new ext HD and works perfectly, like you have discribed
Thanks again for your hints and wish a good success with shooting picture for you
I need now to work on my TC, because of my access rights
:-)))
Best regards
