iPhone 4 sending international SMS by its own!

I'm using Apple iPhone 4 having updated iOS 6 but for few days I'm facing problem of my balance money deduction. When I talked my service provider here in India i.e Idea Cellular, they told me that I'm sending international SMS to United Kingdom. But it's not true I'm not sending any international SMS to UK. Earlier I was not sure whether my phone is sending sms or my sim is sending but when I replaced my sim with another one the problem remained the same so I got confirmed that its a phone problem. Please resolve my problem as one international SMS is send every half an hour and it costs me Rs.5 each SMS.

Thanks

I think this is a bug in latest iOS update. However this is how I got it worked. After switching on FaceTime, when you get a popup message will appear saying "your carrier may charge for SMS " with OK and Cancel, hit Cancel. The FaceTime was activated for me after that and I didn't get any charges also.

Note: This worked for me. But in case you are again charged follow the best answer of switching this off and please don't sue me. 🙂

Nobody will file lawsuit for this. When Samsung did something wrong they stood against them for patent rights and these theives loot Indian consumers Rs 5 per SMS per user. SENDING SMS WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION. Its a crime. Crores in loot. So far I have lost hundreds in this. Imagine how many Indians have lost money with such ******** by iPhone/Apple. And comically iPhone CEO visits India and meet PM Modi to launch its unit in India. Keh ke lenge!

Guys block the following numbers

447786205094

588321092103

1. Airtel users dial *121*7# to know which number it is. Goto Settings - cellular data - turn it on and turn off the ******... FACETIME app

2. Now add the above numbers in your contact list and block them.

Suggestion : Never buy an iPhone again. I HATE'EM. Stay away from theives, stealers or robbers. Better buy an Android phone, u will get PEACE OF MIND at no cost.

The phone is not sending an SMS without authorization. When you enable FaceTime or iMessage you authorize the phone to send activation messages to an international address (in the UK). You are warned that if your carrier is not an Apple-supported carrier that you will be charged for these messages. Carriers that support iPhones do not charge for these messages. They don't even appear on your bill.

Hi Lawrence,

You might be aware that such bloatware can not be uninstalled from iPhones.

If you provide me software which I do not want, means you forcing me to use

it against my wishes and I think I'll call it unauthorized. And why does it

have to send SMS to UK for authorization of its use and not in India, when

you have Apple / App Store for India.

You show me a way to uninstall such iPhone apps which I do not want however

occupy unnecessary space and forced usage, it will be helpful.

You have to accept the fact that Android has couples of levels higher in

terms of customization UI / apps.

Thank you.

It wasn't "unauthorized". You purchased the phone and agreed to the terms when you activated it. If you didn't want the phone you bought, you should have returned it.
