There is no bootcamp drivers for windows 8 yet but you can still dual boot with the operating system, you just wont have a working trackpad. Everything else I managed to get up and running.
Nope that didn't work either.
Found a workaround though I think... in the NVidia control panel under 'Adjust desktop color settings', you can choose 'Use NVidia Settings' for how the color is set- I was able to adjust the brightness with that.
Havent rebooted yet, but those settings should persist.
trackpad working on my 2009 13" MBP... until I tried to fix the 100% brightness issue and Nvidia updated graphics drivers and got stuck after restart in endless BSOD reboot/shutdown cycle... Tried a refresh windows not realising it doesn't keep your programs just apps and data intact and it deleted all installed programs including bootcamp by the look of it... Guess I will be deleting Windows partition and rebuilding from scratch tonight 😟
I had no problems with trackpad on MBP 13" late 2010, but my boot camp keeps freezing constrantly and the only solution is to reboot, very unstable in that regard for me, has something to do with the video card I think D: anyone encountered this problem??
I am finding this really frustrating. I have tried fusion in the past and found that the images would tend to fail after a while, backing them and pulling them off storage media would break them. That totally does not work for me.
So I now have a Macbook Pro Retina 15" and a copy of Windows 8.
First attempt at installation failed as I had been using the machine and bootcamp could not move the files. So after cloning the drive and copying the stuff back I discover that bootcamp can't see the partition I tried to make in the disk utility, it wants to make the partition itself. So I have to reinstall again.
I then start Bootcamp. So I have a DVD with Windows on it and I have a USB DVD drive. Should work eh? Nope, did not, just ended up in a 'cannot see bootable disk' loop. Seems that I have to have the ISO image on USB thumbdrive to get it to work.
Bootcamp tells me that it can make a USB thumbdrive image from an ISO. But how do I convert my Windows disk to ISO. No Disk Utility does not work for this, it can't see the image and gives no clue as to how to install it. The instructions on the net on how to use a command line interface are obscure and useless. One tells e to dismount the image first, ***! if I dismount the image the disk pops out.
I have the Microsoft media and I am trying to install it on the Mac. This should be the case that the instructions explain how to do. No 'put the ISO file that appeared by magic onto a USB drive crap'. It should work.
Ok I'll try this again.. last post got deleted because it had some references to external software... The only way to do what you want is to put the win8 ISO on the USB drive. It just needs to reside there as a FILE, not a bootable drive. Imgburn is a windows app that will create an ISO from your media disk (which is LEGAL so leave this post alone Apple!). It is freeware. If you have a windows machine you can create the iso there, otherwise borrow someones. I just takes a few minutes.
Good luck!
I update from windows 7, all driver seems to work correctly.. 🙂
