Apple screws Ipad 3 customers with iPad 4

I purchased iPad 3 two months ago. Now iPad 4 is out and twice as fast. I just wasted 729 dollars? IS nothing going to be done for the loyal apple customers who believed our expensive purchase wouldn't be obsolete in two months? THIS HAS NEVER been apples policy in past to upgrade before a year. Very disappointed

This time, apple really screws up customers! I just bought new ipad over 1 and half month ago, and unfortunately, I am not legitimated to exchange. Apple should give at least gift card or refund the money they over-charge the product which is merely 6 month old, now outdated. Apple is a real ****! I was once a loyal customer to apple, now I decided to turn other platform, apple is no longer trust worthy company anymore. They just want the profit, but not the innovation! I really miss you , Steve!

I agree with you 100%. I was tossing up between the Google Nexus 7 and the so called "New", "wait we don't have the proper screens for them yet, we will sell them half ones at full cost", "lets test the markets for the iPad 4 and see what reply we get for this 4G crap that doesn't work in Australia" IPAD.

Should have went with my gut feeling and went with Google. So disappointed in Apple now. I was half thinking of getting a Mac for my wife, but now am steering well clear of Apple, if they treat us like this. Stay with Android and Linux.

At least with Android if your not happy with one particular make, you can still keep all your purchases and migrate to another brand.

I fully, 100% agree. This is an outrage, and a slap to the face of us loyal apple consumers! If this had happen in March of next year, not a single one of us would be angry because by then its expected. When we buy somthing from apple, espically around launch time, we buy it fully expecting it to be the latest and cutting edge product for around a year or so. NOT to have it obsolete within 7 months! Yes, we fully understand, due to Moores law, that eventually, any computer or piece of technology will become obsolete within a reletivly short amount of time, but not within a matter of Months.

This is completly unfair, and i think we as apple consumers, most of us loyal ones for years on end, should demand some level of compensation!

Agreed. Bought my 3rd gen 19 days ago. Sure, it still works and does what it was supposed to do. But the reason I was willing to shell out that kind of cash for an Apple product is the confidence with which I was able to make that purchase. There's a trust in the Apple brand that has been tarnished lately. First by the map app, and now this (not thrilled about the lack of an optical drive in the new iMacs either). Had I known, I would have waited. There was no chance to make an informed desicion because the upgrade was only a rumour that started last week. Even then, I didn't believe for a second they would do it. I was wrong.

I will try to exchange mine for an upgrade, since it sounds like some stores are going outside the usual 14-day return period. If they won't, then I'm going to explore options other than Apple (Surface, Android, or just walk away from it all). I don't trust Apple anymore to do right by their customers.

Bought my first Apple product on September 26th - "The New" iPad 3. I was expecting the most up-to-date technology, but now there is the newer iPad 4. Worst yet, I bought it in Hong Kong while studying abroad, so the Apple store is set not to increase return policy to 30 days. Do I have ANY chance to get this thing upgraded? Otherwise, that is definetely the first and last thing I bought from Apple

I'm so so so angry now. I can't believe they did that to New Ipad owner. I pre-ordered my very first Apple product and I was so happy and excited. But I got regreted right after I purchased it. But I was extremely surprised and disappointed that my ipad was "killed" by Appy after 7 months and they are now selling something twice fast with the same money. That is crazy!!!

I have rang my local apple store this morning and they have told me that they will swap out the ipad 3 to the ipad 4. I have the 4G version and im in the uk im sure that this may be the reason why they will for me due to 4g networks in uk not being compatible with the ipad 3..

Just ring your local store they will im sure help you with all the info
