Apple screws Ipad 3 customers with iPad 4

I purchased iPad 3 two months ago. Now iPad 4 is out and twice as fast. I just wasted 729 dollars? IS nothing going to be done for the loyal apple customers who believed our expensive purchase wouldn't be obsolete in two months? THIS HAS NEVER been apples policy in past to upgrade before a year. Very disappointed

this is absolute bs, apple has left a very bitter taste in my mouth i bought my new ipad end of may, i heard rumours of a new ipad but most thought would fix the LTE and replace with lightning connecter but a whole new cpu, better wifi and camera. i feel so cheated and they are severly undercutting our resale value as they are selling refurb 3rd gens for $509 for a 32g wifi model we would have to loose $200 to sell them

cmon apple give us a store credit of $150 or just trade up our third gens no matter when it was bought if they are in good condition obviously

Very very disapointed.I paid £659.00 for the 64GB ipad 3rd gen with wifi/3G just a few months ago now its obsolete, this was my first apple ipad purchase and after this they can get stuffed..I own the samsung android tablet that was banned because of apples patent crap.To be honest i now know why apple wanted it banning and thats cos it wipes the floor with the new apple ipad mini.Even apples retina display is put to shame by the super amoled plus display...Now dont delete my post apple like you have done with others that have aired their views mmmmmmmm!!!!!

Thanks Apple!

I bought my Ipad3 last September knowing that you are about to release the iPad4 March 2013 next year. Me and my friends bought iPad3 and my friend in UK bought his iPad just yesterday.

I felt cheated now, our iPad User group here have the same feeling and we are thinking that this will be our last apple device!

And now in just a couple of months we are using an outdated iPad.

I guess apple will lose many loyal customers.

Count me in.

Thanks a lot apple!

I am ****** OFF ! When Steve Jobs passed away I truly thought there were many other smart minds in management at Apple and I can see that is not true. I purchased my iPad 3 just two weeks ago for my mom and purchased a number of accessories (iHome, etc.) to set her up nice. While a replacement is nice for some, others like me are also screwed on accessories recently purchase "and" now Apple is selling the iPad 3 for alomost $100 less than two weeks ago when I purcahsed. This is such bad business. Bad enough Apple can't seem to resolve the auto rotating of photos I send to people, spotty LTE and the list goes on, but this is too much. Apple use to be a company of quality and consistency and now they are turning into just another tech company who's management goals are not in sync with their tech solutions goals and we now have unclear direction. Soon we will be dealing with quality control recalls. NOT HAPPY !!! THE QUALITY OF THE APPLE MACHINE IS HEADED SOUTH.

I just called my local Apple Store. They said if it's not on the Apple website, then the 14-day return period stands (I'm at 19 days). They would not comment on the option to extend it to 30 days and did not offer any kind of refund, exchange, compensation, etc. I've asked for a manager to call me back to confirm this is the case. If so, I will be weaning myself off of Apple products over the coming years. This company died with Steve Jobs.

maestoso ....Do you really think that manager is going to call you back 😮, theyve had youre money and now they dont care....Weve all been screwed with the ipad 3rd gen. They really kept it quiet , i wonder why ??.. Roumers only appeared "aparently" 5 days ago that they may upgrade the port connector and sort the heat problem with the A5X chip on the ipad 3rd gen but nothing like this .Roumers of the ipad mini including leaked photos have appeared every where on the net over the past few months but none for the ipad 4, they really kept that under lock and key ..

sent from my galaxy note 10.1 as my ipad 3 is now obsolete 😮

I'm not sure. I can always just go down to the store and ask, but I really don't want to get into a face-to-face confrontation with a staff person who actually can't help me. It would be helpful if Apple made some kind of official announcement on what the exchange terms are going to be. It's unfair for Apple users and store staff to make us duke it out individually. All I really want to know is what my options are. If I can't exchange it for an upgrade, then I'll work to sell it and buy a Surface (or just give up on the tablet market; I was probably happier or just as happy before I got one).

I know exactly what you mean about confrontation ect, but how true this is i don't know..

but their are claims being made that if you purchased the 3rd gen ipad in the last 30 days you can return it and exchange it for the ipad 4..But obviosly word from the horses mouth ie. apple direct would be needed to confirm this & wether they will or not is any one,s guess at this stage...

Yeah, I've been looking at some of the listings for people trying to sell their iPad 3's. The prices are all over the map. I don't know what would be a fair asking price. I've had it less than three weeks, but is that as important as the current market value or the date it was released? It's in mint condition, but it is stil a used piece of technology that has a newer, better version out there. Stuck between wanting to recoup some of my money while being fair with the person I sell it to.

Remember when owning an Apple product was fun? 😝
