GRAB
In trying to use the GRAB tool to cut a portion of the screen image I find the GRAB feature does not work. It appears not to be enabled.
How can I turn on this function?

Does Grab not even run?
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
See if the built-in shortcuts work...

| Shift-Control-Command-4 | Capture a selection to the Clipboard |
