iTunes Match - Delete Downloaded Songs from iPhone

I got iTunes Match and decided I wanted to download a portion of my music library to my iPhone in case I don't have a signal and I want to listen to music. I got a little carried away and ran out of room before I got through all of my artists...Rush was the last one to make the cut, thank God!! Anyways, there are still some artists I would like to download, but I don't have any space left. Is there any way I can delete some of the songs that I already downloaded? I want to be able to listen to them through iTunes Match, but not take up room on my phone. Thanks for your interest!!!

Okay. I went into ITunes on my phone and I'm in the "more" area, I press "music", and it gives me a list of artists and there's "recent purchases" and "all songs", which of those do I press? I know that these are just the songs I get from ITunes but I looked at my list and these are songs that I want to keep. I tend to vary to buy songs by my computer and phone. I'm afraid if I delete the ones on my phone I might have to buy them again and that's a lot of money. I'm afraid to make mistakes on this and not do anything that I could regret. I know it's human to make mistakes every now and then but this is a phone. I don't have my life on it or anything. I'm not that kind of person to my phone. I just don't want to do anything regretful. The ones I'm trying to delete are from iCloud, iMatch, or whatever it is from my mom, sister, or dad and I don't know whose it is. As I said my phone just got updated and I'm new to the entire thing. I'm not quite familiar to the match or cloud. What should I do or not do?

To delete songs that your iOS device had downloaded(played) from iTunes Match simply swipe from right to left along the song. If the song had been downloaded there will be no download arrow visible. Once you swipe a delete button appears, press to delete. Note that the song remains listed and available to download again as you are only deleting the song from your device & not from iTunes Match(iCloud).

If you want to delete the song from iCloud then you'll need to login to iTunes on a computer, select the song(s) you want to remove and tap the backspace key. Note the check box asking if you want to delete from iCloud as well. Check this box and click OK.

There is actually a much easier way to delete all the music from your device (I use iTunes Match, so wanted to clear all downloaded music to free up some space):

Go to Settings -> General -> Usage.

In the "Storage" section tap wher it says Music and you'll go to a new screen.

Tap "Edit" in the top right corner - this will show the "Delete" button next to Music.

Delete and confirm. You'll now have cleared all of the downloaded music from your device but will not have done anything to the iTunes Match music stored online, so you can download it all again as you like.
