iMessage not working. Can't add mobile number!?

I do not have an option to sign out. Why? Becasause I am unable to sign in. My password is not being recognized. The password is correct. It works when I sign in directly to the Apple site.

I managed to overcome the problem with adding my mobile number to my iPad, after I had accidentally deleted it (lol) by using my iPhone to reactive my iMessages with my mobile number ... Subsequently my iPad then joined suit and added my mobile number back onto the account!! Bloody technology! Lol

I recently did a network access reset and had the same issue with not being able to sign in and waiting for activation. After trying pretty much everything that was suggested I noticed that my phone number had a 1 in front of it indicating country code, this is found under settings/phone. I entered my number minus the 1 and imessage activation went through immediately plus some other options under location were no longer greyed out. I also now had 2 options under send and receive one being my phone number and email

I have confirmed this by doing a second reset and having the country code show up along with all the other issues, once I entered my cell again everything did what it should

Of course this applies to phones

Phone is a 4S with iOS 6.13

Did you turn off FaceTime & iMessage the turn them back on?

I've tried everything listed above! :) nothing helped :( but after i've got an idea to call to my service provider (MTN in Cyprus). They gave me some codes to enter and restart my iPhone and IT WORKED!

PS: i had a problem and to send and to receive my msgs. Hope it will help to you guys too ;)

This solved my problem with iMessage in iOS7.

I had an iphone before and was using imessages normally, but then sold it and got an ipad air now, beside I've inserted a new sim in it, but unfortunatly it's not allowing the messages/imessages to be working at all, I've even created a new apple id to make it feel the sim card inside it and link it to my account but in vain,

need your help plz what shall I do to activate the new number and use it with message and imessages.!!!

You cannot use a phone number on the iPad unless you also have an active iphone. Then the iPad can use the iphone number.

Thanks for the simple solution. Tried a ton of other solutions offered up on messages boards but this proved the easiest and best solution

Im hoping you're online, still around. Im having the same issue and I notice I do got the 1+ in my number. How exactly do I remove it?

Fix what?
What exactly is your issue?

Try reset your network settings. Helped me.
