My sound turns off and on

The sound/volume on my iPad turns off &on unexpectedly...mostly off. Please help. Also, I can't turn iPad off! I just noticed this today. I turn it off & it automatically turns back on!

OK. That's why I suggested resetting all settings. I have seen that work for the problem that you are experiencing. There is no guarantee that it will work, but I have seen it work in the past.

But If you are not comfortable with resetting all of the settings - then don't do it. I don't want you to try something that you're not comfortable doing.

Do you backup your iPad with iTunes?

First, I do backup my iPad, but if its with iTunes, I don't know. Last time was about 2 weeks ago, but I've been having sound issues before then.

Oooohhh, what are u going to tell me?? I did it. Back to p,ain apple wallpaper etc. but....no sound. I went to my music to see if could play a song. Nope. The bar for the volume is there, but the circular button is not.

Yeah ... It is a pain, I know. A bummer as well. I don't think this will work, but its very easy to do and it sure will not hurt anything. Quit all apps and restart your iPad.

Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus ➖ sign in the upper left corner of the apps to close them. keep swiping in tje task bar and get to every app in there and close them all. When they are all closed - Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.

Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

No, no no ... heavens no!

Do not delete anything. What I am telling you to do is to QUIT the apps on the iPad. If you follow my instructions -you will NOT delete anything.

What I am describing is the way that you completely quit a running app in the iPad. It does not delete anything at all!

Oh, god! I did what you said not to, then I did what you actually said. When the ipad rebooted I had sound for a second! It clicked when I pushed/passed it to come ON. I was excited and happy! I went to my music! :( nope. :( the bar is there, but the circular button is not. And there is no sound.

Reboot the iPad again.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Done. Now this...got a idea....again, had sound, (don't now), went to music....no button...put head phones on...I hear! Take phones out of jack...nada...no sound.

Oh,I'm so sorry.i work for postal service and get up around 2 in the morning. I'm so sleepy. .... More tomorrow....
