It is most likely a driver issue, and until Apple release drivers for Windows 8 there is no official solution, but you could try to identify the driver you need and try to get it from the video card supplier.

Officially? Windows 8 is not supported yet.

Sorry everyone. The situation has worsened as well.

Firstly I have a mid-2011 21" iMac and a 15" MacBook Pro from the same time frame. Now both keyboards are only responding haphazardly. I know they are being detected because when I push the CAPS Lock Windows displays a message telling me so, but when I type nothing appears on the screen. I have tried to hit enter hoping that maybe some glitch just prevented me from seeing the typing but with no success.

I would say one in four attempts after restarts may work.

I have a mid 2011 iMac and have windows8 installed through bootcamp as well. Everything works wonderfully on mine "except" the sound. I have officially no sound whatsoever. The drivers are installed. There are no missing hardware !'s in device manager. I even went to realtek website and downloaded sound drivers but still no sound. I am really hoping Apple releases bootcamp drivers for Win8 soon. I have the Professional disc, not the digital. Anyone else having the same issue but was able to get sound to work?

Same issue here. No sound plus the mouse does not respond to swipes and I have not found a way to right click.

I am kicking myself for rushing into this without doing my research. You can probably track down all the devices inside your iMac and then download the drivers yourself as mentioned previously.

My advice to others reading this is that you should stick with Win 7 if you have work you need to do immediately.

Adding Bootcamp support for Win 8 to my holiday wish list.

Best advice i can give all of you is to look at Windows 8 on a supported machine to see if you like it first. I'll be honest, I hate it, i think that microsoft has lost the plot and Windows 8 is not at all designed with either laptop or destop formats in mind, if you dont have a touch screen then do not bother, stick to Windows 7. i have tried it on my 2011 MBP 17" and could not get the trackpad to work initially then after a bit of driver changing to USB device lost the use of the keyboard then Win8 fell over completely and wont even boot now. meanwhile had a play with Win8 on a PC and decided it is rubbish and will stick with Win 7 until the Fools at MS release Win 8.5, which is appaerntly on the way and will put back in the stuff like the Start button and an option to turn off that BL***y stupid Metro UI.
