How to get a VAT invoice for the iCloud subscription?

Hi all,

I recently purchased the 50 GB storage plan and received a receipt for 80 EUR via email.

What I really need for accounting purpose sis a VAT invoice.

Tried to contact the usual place: macappstore_english_eu_support@apple.com to no avail.

First, they tried to claim that they do not issue VAT invoices due to "non-commercial" nature of the product ;-), later they said they couldn't help with the iCloud billing.

According to Apple's own terms http://www.apple.com/legal/icloud/en/terms.html

Apple is the provider of the Service, … "Apple" as used herein means: iTunes Sarl, located at 31-33, rue Sainte Zithe, L-2763 Luxembourg, for all other users.

Your total price will include the price of the upgrade plus any applicable credit card fees and any sales, use, goods and services (GST), value added (VAT), or other similar tax, under applicable law and based on the tax rate in effect at the time you purchase the upgrade. We will charge tax when required to do so under the tax rules applicable to the Service.

Apple will send an electronic invoice to the email address associated with your Apple ID whenever any Service fees are charged to your Account.

To me, this clearly indicates, that the service is provided by a VAT-registered European entity (iTunes Sarl, VAT No: LU 20165772) so they are obliged by law to issue the VAT invoice.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

L.

Maybe you have to write another e-mail on claiming a VAT invoice. It seems to be very depending on who takes care of your issue. I have contacted Apple support using this sam e address, and got the VAT invoice in couple of minutes.

Please note the name on the original receipt will be shown in 'invoiced to' field and there is no chance to change it to the company name later. So your Apple ID must be set according to your needs.

The other important thing is that the reply with the VAT invoice may be found in your spam folder.

I hope that helps.

(This method is very unusual in business environment, hopefully Apple will change it to normal invoicing process.)
