Seagate 1TB Hard Drive Replacement Program?

I've had a message from Apple regarding the replacement of the iMac 1TB Seagate Hard Drive Replacement. I'm concerned what will happen to my old hard drive after replacement? Should I be worried about personal imformation stored on the machine? I have made a Time Machine backup but I'm wondering if I should wipe the old hard drive before handing the machine over for the replacement.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Thank you babowa. Mac Support told me that they would be destroying the hard drive, and I didn't need to bother erasing anything, just back it up. I was not comfortable with that, so I left the applications but erased my documents, files, photos, etc. I believe it would have been better as well as faster to have erased the entire hard drive like you suggest. Even talking to Mac Support to reinstall my back up was confusing. My original rep wanted to have me do it a complicated way that was not working. He put me on hold and his supervisor told him how to find "restore time machine", which then went smoothly.

Hard drive was replaced about 6 months ago by a local computer shop, so when I got the e-mail I thought great typical £300 wasted as I have little chance of being refunded as it wasn't an authorised shop, just one I always use and trust. Well a big thankyou to Apple as I have been refunded the full £300 after sending proof that I had actually had it done, I will always buy Apple products in the future now , thanks. Andy
