Break Apart Clip Items?

I'm stuck with a timeline full of synced clips (compound clips) created after upgrading to 10.0.6. For the type of video I'm working on, my normal workflow used to be: Sync > Synced Compound Clips go into timeline > minor adjustments for overall length of video > break apart compound clips > major edits. But now, I can't break apart the clip items. And double-clicking on the compound clips won't open them in the timeline. I'm assuming this is because of the new "live compound clips" feature, but I still feel like I'm missing something... Shouldn't I be able to break apart the clip items still? And shouldn't double-clicking on the compound clips (whether in the Event library or the timeline) open the CC in the timeline?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Breaking apart precomps in AE has absolutely nothing at all remotely to do with compound clips in FCP. The code of AE, a motion graphics application, has zero to do with a non-linear editing system. Comparing what you can do in one application written on one code base with what you do in another application that use a completely different code base is meaningless.

Have you tried any of the other suggestions I offered?

Media type was only a possibility. I never said that was the cause. People put all sorts of weird crap in projects that causes strange behavior.

If the problem can be reproduced in a new user and library, I don't know what's causing it, but you should use feedback to report it to Apple. I can't see any reason from what you've said or shown why it wouldn't work. I've tried AVCHD, DV, XDCAM, ProRes, and stills in a project made into a compound clip. Gone into the compound, added more stills and XDCAM, compounded, lengthened the first compound, went back into the compound, and could break the nested compound apart, and the main compound in the project.
