My 5th generation ipod touch battery drains too quickly

My battery also drains while asleep( with apps closed, bluetooth off). However, it doesn't drain when I put it in airplane mode. It seems as though this uses wifi differently from iPhone 5, which turns off wifi when off to conserve power. This iPod seems to keep wifi on. Does anyone know if that's how it works.

returned to store, they tried to 'resurrect' it ...but to no avail. Swop out with replacement there and then. Dont know what they can do with my old one? it was engaved so no chance of a refurb for it. With the new build it cannot be cost effective anyhoo.

Keep WiFi on in Airplane Mode? hmmm not with mine, flick the mode switch and both the wifi and bluetooth register off. All apps using it flag up a fail.

This ipod is like a bad cordless phone. One would think they put a ni cad in there.My only worry is over charging all the time. Mine is also a used 1 year old and have no idea how the others charging habbits were.This thing is only good for apps.Never install the headphones as this is just wrong.Please give me an EQ then i might listen to it.If you are usining this device mostly for music STOP. When will Apple finaly play MKV;s or even FLAC's. I heard the iTV streamer finaly does 1080p. I hope Apple goes down the toilet.The internet seems to to drop once in a while but just go to home screen and then back to the app.

I use a 2011 Sony 8 gig Walkman for my music needs. I set up 2 of them for seniors.Nothing but complements when it came to overall sound. Hook this thing up to anything an amp or a a pair of computer speakers you will be impressed.I listened to it on a Bose radio through the ipod jack in an open kitchen. The same song one in the cd player the other on the sony. It was like night and day.

So Apple smarten up you rich basterds and get your act together. Your product is a joke!

I won't even get into my 1st generation Apple streamer. I had to put that back in the closet

What I said before i I have no regrets. I learned something tonight. You wanna save your battery life.Here's how.When you turn this toilet of an ipod all apps will be running in the background,wether you have 2 or 200 apps.Now to shut them down and you only have to do this once. you have to check what's running religously.

HERE"S HOW

Turn this device on.

Now double click on the button under the screen.Do the double click fast or it won't work.at best try again.You will see up to 4 icons at the bottom.Hold any one of them down to highlite the list. You will see the delete mode.Delete all of them. They will not be erased from any of your pages.Remember to double click at anytime to see what's runnin' then shut them off as necassry.

Now remember whatever you open it will always be running in the background.

I'd be anal and check this all the time.

I hope i made this as easy as possible for yourself.
