Windows 8 bootcamp new drivers?

Need it for DOTA? or HOL? too bad mac is not for gaming purposes. BTW your statement was hilarious, buying Fusion is expensive but you have got yourself a Sony Vaio. You either were drunk or having too much of french fries. You logic fail, I think you better just stick to your superior MS8 rather than using a MAC. It is totally acceptable to have a MS installed in your MAC, but it just make me to feel like someone is supporting MU, went for their game in their stadium, but ended up wearing opponent jersey and shout for MU. It make no sense at all.

Umm your statement is completely false. Macs are great for gaming. I use my iMac 2011 with 27" screen and 6970M GPU to play BF3 on High at 2560x1440. Maybe if your mom bought u a new mac you'd change your mind.

I can play BF3, ARMA 2, and League of Legends just fine on my 15" Retina Macbook Pro. This year's batch is pretty decent. Just sayin'.

Windows 8 Pro Works on the Mac! You need the Apple supplied Windows Drivers. The Windows 8 Drivers are on the Mac Book Pro Boot Camp already, but do not install Automatically.

Click Boot Camp, and you can find the Windows 8 Drivers for Apple's MacBookPro. I would assume the same also applies to other Apple Products. Apple Tech support may try to refer you to Microsoft, But Microsoft does not have the Apple Drivers! Apple the Microsoft 8 Drivers! it works!

Well it makes sense dell and all those other companies would make laptops for windows 8 because that's all they really compete in so it's all they focus on. Apple on the other hand seems to treat bootcamp more of a side job alternative if someone really needs windows 8. Historically it's really new and they have no reason to really go out testing every windows 8 beta that ever came out. Even if they decided to, it wouldn't be perfected till a few months after the release like was done during the release of windows 7.

Although it definitely is still possible that they have already created some sort of upgrade to compensate for the windows 8 release. I personally haven't checked nor think it's critical for myself to upgrade yet.

RE: Mac Book Pro Retana: Freeze up with Boot camp with Windows 8 Installed. You need the Windows Drivers. This cures the Problem. Click on Boot camp install for Drivers.

Look for Windows 8 and Windows Drivers with the install Boot camp.

Apple created the Wndows 8 Drivers early, or they must be the same as Windows 7.

Windows 8 in bootcamp goes directly over Windows 7, as a clean install. No special install as we did with partitioning bootcamp. You will have to be sure your partion is large enough.

I have had it running now for several days. Windows 8 is almost like Windows 7 in nature, except for the Touch Screen under bootcamp.

In windows 8 boot camp, You need to go to the corners of the screen drag to the center with your mouse to get your Windows start up, settings, etc controls with Boot camp with Windows 8 installed.

Under Windows 8 Bootcamp, the best running Windows 8 aid is the "Classic Start" add on, as a free download. It makes windows 8 look just like Windows 7 and act Like Windows 7. Good Luck.

If you want W8 now but not in a VM you purchase a PC, there is quite a large choice and reasonable pricing.

In addition to "bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes" I also needed to install the most current display driver for my card (Mid-2010 MBP 13" - nVidia GeForce 9400M) and this seemed to resolve my freezes.

I use bootcamp as well as Parallels because Visual Studio behaves better when I boot into a full windows OS instead of using virtual devices for everything. I'm a Mac user who needs to use Windows on occassion but don't see a need to buy a second PC. There's an awful lot of suggestions that I "buy a PC." Those of you who think this is the best solution are welcome to come to Pennsylvania and carry this other PC around for me.

Apple have not released drivers for Windows 8 yet.

It's easier.

1. Go to the battery on the bottom right next to your clock and click power option or Go to Control Panel and Power Options.

2. In the plan selected click on " Change plan settings" and then " Change Advance Power Settings"

3. Under Display drop menu, turn off the " Enable adaptive brightness".

Remember to check your HDD for Delays. Bad sectors can be repaired on Mechanical HDD's but delay's not.

When HDD's ( Hard Drives ) are defective, it freezes because it's trying to read a sector or the plate itself has delays. When this happen's, you have to check if your HDD is damaged. On Mac OS X you won't experience that type of freezes. Maybe it can hang on a bit or when opening it from sleep you can experience an .2-.6 miliseconds delay until you can move the mouse.

You can use utilities like HDD generator on a bootable cd-rom, but you will have to use refit in that case to get to boot it.

HDD Regenerator can do diagnostics on NTFS, FAT32, FAT ( Windows Formats. Like the Ones made by Boot Camp, Disk Utility or Windows Disk Managment ) - hfs+ and others. Once You have the bootable HDD regenerator burned on a cd and you have booted, it will ask if you want to do a normal scan and repair bad sectors. It will find bad sectors and repair them, if delays are displayed, then, you have a defective HDD soon to be damaged.

Always try to diagnostic before configuring or screwing up your OS. You can spend days trying to solve instead of having a real answer to your problem.

Yes, we know about bad sectors, Explain what you mean by "the plate itself has delays" Possibly you mean Platter instead of Plate, but tell us about the delays, how do they happen?

Hello to everyone!

The issue, as I've been exprierencing on my Macbook Air (11", 2011 model) has to do with the driver for the Broadcom 801.22n network adapter (known as Airport Extreme adapter on the Mac OS side). My computer will freeze endlessly, without fail unless I go into the control panel and disable the wireless driver. Then, I literally have no problem. I can enable the dynamic tick (which is actually a GOOD feature of Windows 8).

Until Apple updates the drivers for Windows 8 or Broadcom can come up with a solution, Macbook Air users will not be able to connect to Wi-Fi wil running Boot Camp.
