Windows 8 bootcamp new drivers?

Hello. I have an 2011 MBA 11', with a bootcamp partition with W7 ultimate. I purchased the windows 8 upgrade few days ago...

This is a nightmare!!!!. The MBA freezes in a few seconds, and i need to restart the whole laptop becouse is totally frozen!!!!

At the end, as is impossible to downgrade to windows 7, i have erased the bootcamp partition, and reinstalled the W7...

Now i have downloaded again mi W8 installer, waiting in the W7 desktop, until Apple, microsoft or anyone else fix that megaproblem...

I' m with Mac Os for several years, and buffffff, this reminds me about my Windows years, and dont like it......

I nearly had the same problem and I found the drivers on the net, then I installed them manually with the devices manager.

I can't find those drivers anymore but I found this if this can help you : http://www.aheil.de/2012/10/28/boot-camp-windows-8-me-haz-drivers/ . I don't know if you already tried it.

Personally, I didn't get to download this, because I have an error at nearly 30% of the download but I hope you will. Just try it. 😉

I've been using Win 8 on my 2010 Macbook (the white plastic one) flawlessly for a while now, but I was having similar freezing issues. As soon as the bootcamp driver/taskbar/program started up, the machine would either freeze or bluescreen. The fix was simple:

Open the device manager and disable the Generic PnP Monitor driver.

Been working perfectly, including games, for well over a month without problems. You might have to remove the bootcamp driver, then disable the monitor, then reinstall bootcamp, but then you're good to go. The problem in my case was brightness controls. Something about how the bootcamp software controlled brightness was conflicting with how the pnp monitor was doing it, I think.

Hi Atomez,

I tried the old driver you linked to but it crashed my wireless networks tray. I'm on Windows 8.1 with Boot Camp 5.1.5621 on an Apple MacBook Pro "Core i7" 2.8 15" Mid-2010. Only getting a fraction of the speed I used to get on Windows 7 with an older Boot Camp.

Any idea?
