Vendor ID Error

I am trying to publish abook through Ibook author and I keep getting "Missing Required file: Vendor Identifier". I have gone back to the first page on ITunes Producer where you insert the ISBN number which I have inserted but the Vendor ID field remain greyed out and I cannot insert anything. How do I get around this? Do I have to insert the ISBN number in the actual book? If so can anybody tell me how to do this in IBooks Author as I cannot find out how to do it anywhere.

UPDATE:

Just got off the phone with an Apple support guy-- he answered the phone on the second ring and walked me through to solve a problem and answered lots of other questions. Excellent service!

He said the "Vendor ID" is only for books without ISBN numbers. He seemed aware of the way it changes but indicated that doesn't really matter. It didn't seem to be a problem on my two books.

I uploaded a book yesterday and it's up on iTunes this morning!

Thanks so much for everyone's help. Tearing my hair out over this as well as the pricing issue. But I deleted my ISBN, the vendor ID opened up, -I wasn't able to enter my ISBN again, but the book went through without it. Whew!

Super simple, exit iTunes Producer, Reopen Itunes Producer then select open recient. And you will be able to edit the vendor. Hallelujah I was able to launch Gollup the Woods on Itunes.
