My new IPad mini has poor wifi reception. Goes in and out. My IPod, IPhone, Ipad1 and Ipad2 work finer. I think it has wifi antenna issues. Does anyone else have this problem?

I signed up for these forums just for the reason of adding another voice to this problem, which seems to be widespread.

I bought an iPad mini yesterday, coming from my old Motorola Xoom (both with a Verizon data package), and though my experience aside from wifi connectivity has been stellar, this issue has really put a damper on everything. Nothing else in my room has any issues with wifi, being a Wireless N network using a Linksys WRT300N router.

I updated the iOS from 6.0.1 to 6.0.2, but there was no improvement. I tried every suggestion in this thread but the issue persisted.

The wireless is fine when I'm in the same room as the router. When in my bedroom, the only way it seems to work is if the iPad is flat on my bed or desk with the antenna aimed in the general direction of the router.

I never would have expected that an Apple tablet would have more issues with wifi than my Motorola Xoom tablet from two years ago. Surprising!

I have the same exact problem, I discovered that this happens when the battery is low in like 40%, but it goes normal again once I charge my iPad Mini full, how could this happen and means anything I don't know, I hope Apple will find this now with this comment and find us a fix, as I can see there's already more than 10 people has the same problem ... I have the latest firmware 6.1.2 and still the same issue ... guys!! 😟

I experienced the same issue on my own iPad mini.

Very frustrating, booked into Genius Bar who were very helpful.

My device even disconnected from the stores own network whilst with a support technician.

This was enough for them to agree that the device should be replaced.

Sad thing is, got the replacement home and it does exactly the same as the original device!

Could it be my wireless router...maybe...but why is my iPad2 and Mac Book Air not having the same issues?

If I stay in the same room as where the wireless router is then the iPad mini doesn't disconnect.

If I move into the next room which is no more than 5 metres away, the signal strength on the mini is up and down like a yo-yo and then disconnects! At this point I have to go into settings and manually connect again.

A friend said something similar about his iPhone5 at his own home.

Got so fed up that he purchased an AirPort Extreme and says all is good.

Perhaps newer Apple devices only like their own WiFi routers!?!

I feel a bit like an idiot, but after putting up with problems with my mini since launch I finally called Quest, my ISP. They knew exactly what was up, up a new configuration on my router (I had already tried all of Apples suggestions) and it has been working perfectly for over a month. Give it a shot - you might be pleasantly surprised.

Hi OzGrink

My Wife and I just switched from an iPad 1 (yes) to iPad Mini. All went Ok until I went into the bedroom.

Started but stoppd ,on and on ?? I went closer to WIFI rauter all OK. This afternoon sent for a WiFi signal

repeater. Also checked this Apple forum. WOW I am not alone. OzG is RIGHT ON, same case with magnet.

Took mini out for air & worked , but low bar, but worked. I now know that WiFi booster will put me back

under cover.

PS; with earphone jack & wire pluged in I did see a minor improovement. Why Apple does not address

this dammage to reputation ?? is in question.

Thanks OzGrink

To you and all that have this KNOWN problem with the iPad MINI.

Don't expect any answer from APPLE on this. I exchanged one for another. Apple knows this will NOT fix

the problem, so don't wast your time. I love this product but hate being ignored by a BAD APPLE re the

lack of Wi-FI satisfaction. I had no success with the WiFi range extenders, MANY.

Best answers: Go to Starbucks, Chop down a wall in your house, Get the most modern Wi-Fi rauter that

can be set to the most power (the latest I have is Arris DG860 ) and place it as high and away from stuff

as you can. After much effort it works most of the time. In my case, at times I have to go closer to

the rauter JUST to start the connection & then back to my bedroom to enjoy the MITY MINI.

I know this problem all to well! Actually my wife and I are on a long trip (6 month) and bought 2 iPad Minis beforehand to stay connected. But we are facing so many WiFi issues with them it is VERY dissapointing! The iPhones and MacBook Airs frequently have no issue with a WiFi and for the iPad Minis it is close to a miracle if everything works well with the first attempt! From my point of view Apple should definitely create an update to solve this!

I've had my new iPad mini for a month or so. Having similar problems with wifi strength issues. Streaming clips from Youtube will stop with a spinning wheel for more time than I have patients for. Testing it with a speed app shows it strong then flat then strong then flat. Slowly reducing in strength over the course of the test. In comparison my first generation iPad works great. No wifi problems.

On a similar note I also traded in my iPhone 4 for an iPhone 5s the same day. Similar weak strength in recieving wifi signal. The iPhone 4 had full strength.

This is obviously not an isolated problem. I have an appointment with the Genius Bar. We'll see what they will tell me.

*ipad mini WiFi connection problem solved *

Since last update ios 7., 7.1 the device does t connect to WiFi then turn it off then on after to get the signal of the WiFi many steps

Was suggested but nothing solve it will I tried these together and it worked as magic:

1_ turn off wifi then turn it on after 5 seconds

Will it didn't work . Though done many times B-).

So ....... How ? I can use my browser wait

2_before turning off your WiFi switch airplane mode on for 1sec or min

It might be different according to your device .

3_ this step night be popular but didn't work withh the last ios update for me either

But again after doing it again it worked perfectly .**make sure to follow after step 1,2 to work for u 2

Then enjoy internet connection browser forever .

Guarantee it worked for me a second ago .
