Sync Outlook 2013 with iCloud under Windows 7?

An errror shows stating that Outlook does not have a default profile. I have tried deleting and re-installing the iCloud control panel and Outlook definitely has a default profile. Still, it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Windows 8.1, Outlook 2013.

After upgrading to Windows 8.1 the iCloud tab disappeared from Outlook, even though the settings still showed the plug-in to be active. Also the iCloud control panel ceased to show the option sync of agenda and contacts.

This worked for me:

  1. de-install of the iCloud control panel
  2. online repair of Office 2013: windows control panel > programs>office>change>online repair
  3. re-install of the Outlook control panel
  4. re-boot

Everything back to normal and off you go.

Tried djolink's solution and some of it worked. Emails and calendars only.

All of my contacts and my precious distribution lists and groups are GONE with no way to retrieve them. God, I hate icloud. Some of us are forced to use PCs at work and this apple vs microsoft crap HAS TO GO!

Now off to 4 days of work solely rebuilding lists... who can I charge my time for this Apple AND Microsoft?

@Threadfighter: did you add the iCloud account as a POP account? I tried doing that, but I can't find the server information to make that happen. Otherwise I am currently dead in the water and with my settings in iTunes to sync via the cloud, it only shows Mail in my iCloud control panel. I have done the repair option, the delete program and reinstall, remove the account from Outlook and readd it, still nothing. Very frustrating because even my iPhone is not picking up any of the updates being made manually in my iCloud account to a contact. I changed a minor element to a contact in iCloud and it has not "moved" over to the phone. Even when adding an item to my iPhone it doesn't get picked up on the cloud, but when I change it on my iPad Gen1, it moves to my phone and the cloud. If I had any hair left I would pull it out.

Would anyone suggest I have a deeper problem somewhere in the phone or windows operating system? I am at a total loss. Thanks.

iCloud is an Imap mail system, you can not make it be POP. Don't waste your time trying.

You seem to be very confused about iCloud, iTunes and iCloud are not the same thing, if you sync via iTunes you are not using iCloud, you are using iTunes, don't confuse the two.

You seem to have all kinds of problems, your phone is not connected to iCloud if none of the iCloud changes are on it.

Take your phone to an Apple Store and ask them to help you.

Any thoughts on where I could look? I just checked and actually none of my devices are updating to iCloud. Isn't it a push technology? So I figured that so long as I was logged into my iTunes account it should sync?

Is it possible, if my iCloud email address is not used as my primary account email address it is not picking up everything? But that doesn't explain the problem with Outlook. But it could explain why my phone and pad are not picking up the changes from the iCloud account??

Wow, for what was supposed to save us so much time, we certainly invest a lot in getting to actaully work.

I found a hair, I pulled it out. 😮

We are not going to get anywhere if you want to tell me how it works.

iTunes and iCloud are not the same!

You are (or were) using iTunes local sync (avoiding iCloud)

My advice to you is to go to an Apple Store, tell them what you want to happen, let them show you how.

Respectfully, I don't think I was telling you "how" it works, I was explaining what "I" was doing or how I thought it was supposed to work. I am clear how the two are different, but they are connected via the account.

Bottom line, it is the connection between Outlook 2013 on windows 7 and iCloud. That is the problem!

Let's forget about my devices at the moment, and any thoughts anyone has on getting the two to sync is what I am looking in this thread for.

Open the iCloud control panel on your PC, sign out of iCloud. Reboot the PC and sign back in, turn the services you require on

Go to Settings>iCloud on the phone, delete the iCloud account and set it up again.

Go to www.icloud.com and enter a test appt on the calendar, tell me whether it appears on the phone and the PC.

But at the moment I am just trying to see the changes happen between my Outlook and my iCloud account. Assuming I don't own a mobile device and I just want to have access to my calendar, contacts and tasks in iCloud that are also in my Outlook. Until I can get that sync working correctly, there is no sense in my messing with my phone. And actually because that is not happening between iC and Outlook, I have contacts turned off on my phone anyway because I need to the address information that was correct before I installed iCloud. I will do the reboot anyway and sign back in the iCloud control panel.
