Sync Outlook 2013 with iCloud under Windows 7?

An errror shows stating that Outlook does not have a default profile. I have tried deleting and re-installing the iCloud control panel and Outlook definitely has a default profile. Still, it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

In all fairness, I wasn't unwilling, just trying to cover my bases.

With that, I did the reboot as suggested. Wow, what a bit of a hot mess, but I think it is something I can work with.

The challenge is that it moved ALL of my contacts and calendar items to the iCloud folder and duplicated everything. So a bit of a mess now to clean up so it is only showing single items for each.

Lastly, anything you can share on how to stop my Outlook responding like an old dog. It now takes an extended period of time to switch between Mail, Calendar and Contacts etc. (and please don't suggest getting a Mac - 😉)

All in all I appreciate your time to reply, it did get me further along than all my efforts before.

Cheers, Adam

Wow... Hey, did someone put vinegar in your coffee. I was thanking you. It is unfortunate that you didn't want to hear what happened, I didn't say I was opposed to it, I just didn't expect and it has caused a great deal of clean up work for me now, that's all that needs to be understood.

But by posting my comments here for OTHERS to see, they will know what to expect when they finally get it to work with your generous recommendations.

Be well and pour a fresh cup, I just did.

Again, thanks for your input... it did help.

Enjoy the day.

The sign out of iCloud, reboot and then sign back in was the answer to connect Outlook correctly.

Now I am deleting the account from the iPhone and restarting and activating the account again. I originally just deleted it and then signed back in, but it didn't allow contacts like before. And the calendar was not populating.

Any suggested programs for removing duplicate entries in the iCloud calendar? I now have 15,000+ entries when before the merge (which took was one iCloud from before, regular calendar in Outlook and then duplication) it was only 2,000+ calendar entries. So that is a pile of clean up as you can imagine.

Suggestions or thoughts?

@AdamSK

I see you have another LONG thread going following your post to me. But to answer your original question. The POP account I added was a dummy account I created under my business domain. I chose that option because the account won't be closed when I never use it. You could conceivably do the same with a gmail or hotmail account. I created dummypop@xxxxxx.com and once I added that as a POP account I was able to add my many other email addresses as IMAP and all of my calendar, contacts and email has been working ever since. I do not use an @me or similar account for email - but that works too if I send a test email. The POP account just sits there doing nothing.

All of my contacts are saved to iCloud, and most of my calendar events, although gmail calendar will sync also. Updating/receiving updates to an iCloud calendar event in outlook is a pain - but that a whole other issue not relevant here. 🙂

Hope either the rest of your discussion (I didn't read through it) or this tidbits helps!

Cheers!
