Do created playlists use extra storage on iPhone4 please?

(I'm trying to free up space for the os6 update- why does it need 2.5GB?!)

iPhone 4, iOS 5

Playlists take space for the songs contained in the playlist.

Are you upgrading via the computer or over the air directly on the device?

Thanks for replying.

All songs in playlist are already on my Music app on the phone, but I was wondering if they use extra storage if they are duplicated in different playlists please?

I was planning to update over Wifi, but could do either...

No, they take up no additional space.
